Peter Dutton delivered a fiery Federal Budget reply on Thursday night.
The Leader of the Opposition promised to ease the cost of living and taking a brutal swipe at Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
But the politician admitted there would be a few key people disinterested in what he had to say – his own wife and daughter.
Dutton joked that his wife, Kirilly, and their three children would have the channel on reality series Married At First Sight instead.
‘I want to give a shout out to my wife tonight, who has just had surgery on her wrist and is at home watching with Rebecca, Harry and Tom, unless MAFS clashes with this broadcast’ he said to laughter from colleagues.
Peter and Kirilly were married in 2003 and have three children – sons Tom and Harry and daughter Rebecca.

During his speech, Dutton picked crime as the key battleground in the upcoming election as he claims Australia is ‘less safe and less secure’ under the Albanese government.
Dutton’s nearest and dearest aren’t the only ones who can’t get enough of the reality series.
Sky News Australia staff appeared to be taking in a Married At First Sight episode on Tuesday night during their 2025-2026 Federal Budget coverage.
Journalist Sharri Markson shared images to Instagram of her posing in the Sky News Canberra studios while the controversial Channel Nine series was seen playing in the background.
Sharri, 41, appeared oblivious to the huge TV screen behind her, which aired a scene of controversial couple Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou fighting in their apartment bedroom.
‘Out of lock-up and onto Sky News for budget analysis in Canberra!’ Sharri captioned the reel of photos.
Sharri dressed in all red for her coverage, opting for a long scarlet skirt and matching shirt and jacket.
She was seen posing with radio star Ross Greenwood in one image, before she moved on to take another picture with Sky News AM Agenda host Laura Jayes.

She is also the winner of numerous awards in journalism, including two Walkley Awards.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers handed down the Federal Budget on Tuesday night, with Anthony Albanese’s government announcing several promises to ease the cost-of-living for struggling Australians.
Among those promises are two tax cuts starting from next year, along with a $150 energy rebate and wiping $19billion from existing student debt.
Those tax cuts have passed the House of Representatives and will go the Senate.
Aussies have also been told nine out of ten GP visits will essentially be free as part of the government’s overhaul of Medicare, with $7.9billion injected into bulk-billing incentives.
Mr Chalmers has also committed to delivering a $793million women’s health package.
Meanwhile, a potential date for the election has been set, with the Prime Minister expected to call the election for May 3, according to Labor insiders, news.com.au reported.
Anthony Albanese could call the election as early as Friday.
The PM had earlier refused to be swayed on giving an election date, simply saying it would be held in May.
