Peter Andre has issued a heartbreaking health update about his mother Thea who is battling Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
The TV personality, 50, said the only thing that saddens him about getting older is that his parents do too, as he spoke about turning 51 years old next week.
Peter admitted to seeing the ‘rapid decline’ in the health of his mother, 88, as she lives with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
In his column for new! magazine, Peter said: ‘I can’t believe I’m nearly 51. I was worried as I approached 50, but I’m over that and I feel great.
‘I’m loving life and age is just a number. You can live life to the fullest at any age. I will be honest, though, the only thing that makes me sad about getting older is that my parents are too.’

Peter continued: ‘Although I thank God my parents are still here, I am seeing the rapid decline, especially in Mum. I find that part hard to deal with.
‘Like most people, l’m so close to my parents that it is really difficult to come to terms with.’
The Mysterious Girl hitmaker has spoken in length about how it is ‘very tough and emotional’ to watch Thea’s health decline.
He has also opened up about how it’s hard to have his elderly parents live on the other side of the world.
The star is set to become a parent himself for the fifth time, after it was announced in October that he was expecting his third child with NHS doctor wife Emily MacDonagh, 34.
Peter and Emily already share Amelia, 10, and Theo, seven, and Peter has Junior, 18, and Princess, 16, with Katie Price, 45.
He married Emily in a lavish ceremony at Mamhead House in Exeter in 2015 after the pair met in 2010 through Emily’s surgeon father Ruaraidh MacDonagh.
Ruaraidh was Peter’s consultant during surgery for kidney stones in 2010 and, knowing she was a fan of his music, introduced her to him.

The pair developed a friendship but did not begin dating until summer 2012.
Appearing on Loose Women on Thursday, Peter said that he wants his fifth child to be a boy as he and Emily teased potential baby names.
Emily admitted on Lorraine this month that she was finding pregnancy a lot harder this time around, attributing it to being a bit older.
However, she said she was still enjoying the pregnancy and savouring the remaining weeks with the baby whom Peter hopes will be a boy.
Peter told the Loose Women panellists: ‘I’ve had both and technically this will be the sixth set of nappies I’ve changed, I don’t mind, but preferably a boy.’
The sixth set of nappies Peter referenced included his ex-wife Katie Price’s son Harvey, who was just three years old when his mother and Peter married in 2002. Peter and Katie share son Junior and daughter Princess together.
During the Loose Women chat, Nadia Sawalha held a crystal above Emily’s belly and predicted the baby would be a boy.

Reflecting on her pregnancy this time round, Emily candidly discussed with Lorraine earlier this month that she’s struggled a lot more than before
Regardless, the couple were ready for either gender, with Emily saying: ‘We quite like some of the gender-neutral names like Jamie.’
In January, Peter confirmed that Emily will be giving birth in ‘eight or nine weeks’, co-signed by Emily who revealed earlier on in the month that she was ‘counting down the next three months’.
Emily said of her pregnancy: ‘It’s been harder and I don’t know if it’s because I’m older or because I have two kids already. It has definitely been a little bit more challenging but I think that’s going to be expected isn’t it.
‘The more pregnancies you have I guess that get a little bit more challenging but I love it and it’s a precious time and I can’t believe it’s coming to an end which makes me think I really need to relish these times.’
She added: ‘We are mostly ready. Peter is so hands on, he’s making sure I don’t carry anything and he’s helping me up the stairs, all of these things.’
