PETE Wicks has revealed a recent heartbreaking loss he has suffered.
The reality star, 37, has opened up about not liking Christmas, and not being too fussed about this year’s holiday season because of something sad that happened recently.
Pete sadly lost one of his beloved dogs, Peggy, to an illness this year, which means he is not in the mood to socialise too much.
Instead, he plans to “hibernate like a bear” and spend quality time with his other dog, Eric.
Speaking to MailOnline, Pete explained how he won’t be seeing his best friend Sam Thompson or his family at Christmas this year.
When asked why, he candidly replied: “I don’t like Christmas,” before revealing the real reason.
Pete opened up emotionally and revealed: “One of my dogs died of meningitis recently, so I’ve only got one left.
“We’ll go away alone, I reckon.
“Basically, I’m going to be like a hibernating bear.”
He also opened up about the loss on the most recent episode of his podcast Staying Relevant.
He told listeners: “On a sad note, because I know people will ask and it’s not the point of this, the reason Peggy’s not here is because I lost Peggy recently.
“It’s why Eric is here with everyone here in the office, because he’s been lonely, because I haven’t mentioned that publicly and now everyone will ask.
“So yeah, about a month ago.”
Meanwhile, elsewhere in his recent interview, Pete was asked if he would be buying his best mate Sam a present, he said: “My gift to Sam is another year of my company.”
Sam who was also taking part in the interview then replied, “I accept that gratefully.
“Let’s face it, there are millions of guys like me, but there are few like Pete Wicks.
“That’s the best present ever.”
The two pals met while filming Celebs Go Dating in 2019.
At first, the two men clashed, but they quickly formed a strong bond which has lasted for years.
They co-host their popular podcast, Staying Relevant, together, where they can be heard sharing stories from their day-to-day lives, as well as having a bit of banter.
Not only do they have a podcast together, but they also co-authored a book sharing stories that have not been shared on the podcast.
