Pete Davidson confesses he is the ‘girl’ in relationships… after dating Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande

Pete Davidson revealed that he tends to be the ‘girl’ when it comes to relationships and has a more ‘feminine’ side.

The former SNL star, 31 – who has ‘spent $200K spent getting all of his tattoos removed’ amid his sobriety journey – opened up about the topic while appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday.

At one point, the host questioned the Bupkis actor if a woman should approach a guy and make the first move if interested.

Davidson – who has dated a number of A-list stars such as Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian – confessed, ‘I’m the girl, I think, whenever I’m in a relationship. So, some guys are shy…when a lady’s like, “Hey,” you know?’

Barrymore then asked if men like ‘assertiveness’ in women and he replied with, ‘I do, because I grew up [with] all ladies in the house, so I act pretty feminine.’

Pete previously admitted to being baffled by the interest in his love life – which was thrust into the spotlight when he began dating Ariana Grande in 2018.

He notably popped the big question after the pair dated for only a few weeks, but the Wicked actress called off the engagement later that same year. 

Davidson was then linked to other celebrities such as Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley and also Kaia Gerber. 

In 2021, the comedian sparked up a relationship with Kim Kardashian after the two first crossed paths when she was a guest star on Saturday Night Live. 

However, after nine months of dating, their split was revealed in August 2022. 

Pete then briefly dated supermodel Emily Ratajkowski and started a relationship with his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star, Chase Sui Wonders in 2023. 

Most recently, the actor dated Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline but the pair broke up in July 2024 after nearly one year together. 

Despite dating some of the most well-known women in the world, Pete has admitted that he can’t understand why his love life attracts so much attention. 

During an interview on the Real Ones podcast in 2023, Davidson expressed: ‘I’m in my 20s and I’ve dated people. And for some reason, that’s very crazy and interesting to people. I don’t think it’s interesting.’

‘I’ve been in show business for, like, half my life almost – for 14 or 15 years and on a national TV show. In 12 years I’ve dated 10 people.’

He added, ‘I don’t think that’s that crazy, but to some people, that’s very interesting. That became all anyone would talk about.’ 

Pete also stated that he wished his comedy work was the focus of the public’s attention – instead of his love life. 

‘Suddenly you’re in this zeitgeist and that has nothing to do with the work. And that’s a really s****y feeling. I became more known before the work was there, but I was always working.’ 

The same month Davidson split from Cline, the comedian notably checked himself into a wellness facility to focus on his mental health. 

Pete has also been sober since September of last year and a source recently gave insight into his health and sobriety journey.

The actor dropped a hefty $200,000 to remove the numerous tattoos that cover much of his body, according to an insider who spoke to People on Friday.

‘He just woke up one day and wanted them gone, and it’s been a years-long process,’ the source revealed.

Davidson, who ‘has been sober since September and gained twenty pounds,’ opted to remove his tattoos as a ‘fresh start,’ a second insider told the outlet.

‘Things are really going well for him, everything is moving in the right direction, and he’s been receiving fantastic reviews for the movie,’ the insider added, referencing Pete’s new film Dog Man.

During an appearance on Today on Friday, Davidson opened up about how excruciating the tattoo removal process has been, describing it as ‘pretty terrible.’

‘So if anybody out there is watching and thinking about getting a tattoo, make sure you really want to get it,’ he said while showing the faded body art on his arm. ‘It’s pretty gone.’

The actor, who began the removal process in 2020, revealed that getting sober sparked his desire for a full transformation, including his appearance.

Back in 2021, the actor confirmed that he was ‘burning off’ his tattoos so that he could get more film roles.

During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actor said he wants to have his tattoos removed so that he doesn’t have to spend ‘three hours’ in makeup every day getting them covered up.
