Perrie Edwards has confirmed the release date of her debut single as she prepares to branch away from Little Mix and embark on a solo career.
The singer is the latest Little Mix star to go solo after Leigh-Anne Pinnock and former bandmate Jesy Nelson both launched careers away from the hugely successful pop group.
And first single Forget About Us is scheduled for release on April 12, with Edwards confirming the date in a light-hearted Instagram video on Tuesday.
The singer, 30, confirmed the track’s title and unveiled its cover art in a social media post shared with followers on March 12.
Captioning the post, she wrote: ‘Here’s the truth of it…. Wow it’s happening!! My first solo single Forget About Us is coming, available to pre-save now’.

Formed on The X Factor in 2010, Little Mix enjoyed enormous success throughout their 11-year recording career before announcing their split in December 2021.
But the bandmates have suffered mixed fortunes since confirming their decision to put the band out to pasture.
Nelson, who left the band in 2020 to prioritise her mental health, originally signed a solo deal with Polydor Records but parted ways with the label in 2022 following a lukewarm response to her debut single, Boyz.

The singer later released second solo single Bad Thing independently, but the track failed to break into the UK top 100 singles chart.
Nelson has since scrapped plans to release third single Cried Out in favour of an ‘up-tempo banger’ that she claims is ‘me in a nutshell’, according to sources.
Speaking to The Mirror, an insider said: ‘Jesy has been listening to her critics. She is desperate to give fans something epic and is doing all she can to find her authentic sound, but the sudden change-up has unsettled her camp.
‘Last year, most of her debut album was believed to be done – even the artwork was in place – but Jesy has since done a huge u-turn and everything is being reworked, even the aesthetic as it doesn’t match her new up-tempo direction.’
In 2022 former bandmate Pinnock signed her own solo deal with Warner Records, releasing debut single Don’t Say Love in June 2023.
