Perrie Edwards has revealed she almost quit Little Mix in the early days of the band forming.
During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show – which will air Saturday – the singer, 30, admitted that when she first joined the group, she was ‘terrified’ of dancing and felt very uncomfortable.
In one of the early rehearsals, Perrie was left in tears and told her manager that she couldn’t dance and would have to leave the pop group.
Reflecting on the early days as she promoted her debut single, Forget About Us, she said: ‘In the band at the very beginning, we went to rehearsals, and I remember crying my eyes out.
‘And I went to my manager, “I’m going to have to leave the band. I can’t really dance, I don’t want to dance.” I was just so terrified and uncomfortable dancing that I just didn’t want to do it – I just wanted to stand and sing.’

Little Mix – consisting of Jade Thirlwall, 31, Perrie, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 32 – officially split in December 2021.
Jesy Nelson, 32, was originally a member but decided to leave the group in December 2020 after she cited a decline in her mental health.
Perrie, who was joined on the show by Johannes Radebe, Frank Skinner and Aisling Bea, admitted that appearing on the show without her fellow bandmates felt ‘bizarre’.
She said: ‘It’s really bizarre not having them with me, it does feel really different.
‘I think it was just the right time for us to part ways, do our own thing and I just want them to win so it’s nice seeing them do their own thing as well.’
Since the band members decided to go their separate ways, many have enjoyed thriving solo careers and now Perrie has decided to get in on the action.
The South Shields-born singer-songwriter, who signed to Columbia Records last year, launched her solo material in February.
She used a brand-new Perrie HQ Instagram account to announce the news and tease music snippets.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Perrie added: ‘Hey everyone, welcome to Perrie HQ. This will be ran by my absolutely amazing team, and I will be popping in every now and again if I can remember my password, you know what I’m like.
‘Make sure you come here for updates and all things moi! Love you guys.’
Speaking to Jonathan on how she feels about going solo, Perrie said: ‘Terrified. It’s so different and it’s not what I’m used to.
‘From being 16, I was in Little Mix, so I don’t know any different, so it is quite daunting, but I’m having such a good time so far.’
Touching upon the struggle of deciding what to name her album, Perrie said: ‘It’s really hard – I can’t think of anything. Everyone says ‘Just call it Perrie’. It’s hard. I don’t know.’
Later, Jonathan asked Perrie about the possibility of Little Mix getting back together and Perrie quipped: ‘I’d definitely never say never. We just love each other so much.
‘We thought we’d been together for 12 years since we were babies and we just wanted to do our own thing and see what happens. We’d definitely love to get back together in the future.’
The latest Jonathan Ross Show will air Saturday, April, 13 on ITV1 AND ITVX.
