‘When I had Axel, I learned a lot about not sweating the small stuff. A lot of things used to really get to me, used to make me feel so uncomfortable.
‘I am not really good at handling confrontation – anything like that would usually kind of overwhelm me.
‘But when I had Axel, I thought, ‘None of them things matter. I can handle that. I’ve just birthed a human.
‘I felt powerful. I was, like let someone try me… I think I’m ready now.
Perrie added: ‘He gave me this confidence I didn’t know I ever had. And then I felt protective of him so then I became the protector.
‘And then I thought, ‘Right, if I can do this for him, I can do it for myself’. And it just kind of changed me in a good way. I’d say for the better.
‘He’s the best thing to ever happen to me.
‘I will be in the garden and he’ll turn around to me and go, ‘Mama’. And then sometimes I get taken aback and I’m like, ‘I am a mama’.

The couple are yet to set a date after the footballer proposed two years ago.
‘I feel like we’ve already planned it. In our minds we know and we talk about it a lot – Alex more so than me actually which is really cute because he wants it to pop off,’ Perrie said during an Australian radio interview.
‘He wants a party, a performer, he wants it to be a big thing. I’m like, I know who I want as bridesmaids and this and that. It’s all kind of set in stone but we haven’t actually planned it yet.
Perrie added that she wants to wait until Axel gets older so he can play a big role in the wedding.
‘There’s a lot going on in my life right now, I’ve got so much. We’ve said about waiting for Axel to be older and then he can be a pageboy or whatever. It makes more sense.’
