Pauly Shore made yet another public plea to change the mind of reclusive aerobics guru Richard Simmons, who has disavowed his unauthorized biopic currently in development at Warner Bros. subsidiary The Wolper Organization.
The 55-year-old comedian flew back to the Hollywood Burbank Airport on Tuesday after receiving a standing ovation at a sold-out screening of his 10-minute short film about the retired 75-year-old at Park City, UT hotspot The Cabin last Friday.
Jake Lewis wrote and directed The Court Jester, which centers on an under-appreciated segment producer’s life-altering run in with Richard (born Milton).
All of the action takes place backstage during a high-profile talk show strongly resembling The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Simmons did, in fact, make six appearances on the Ellen Show between 2003 and 2011 where he showcased his flamboyant, effervescent personality and sincere desire to get real about the darker days when he topped the scales at 268lbs.

‘Richard, what’s up buddy? It’s me again, sorry. Listen, watch the short,’ Pauly told TMZ on Tuesday.
‘Watch it with your open heart. Don’t watch it coming into it like, “I don’t want to do this!” Watch it with your open heart and just be vulnerable. What do you think of it? And if you feel that it’s still messed up and that doesn’t track with your integrity, then let us know.
‘But in the meantime we’re going to try to move forward with this piece. We’re going to look for writers. Let us know what you think of the short.’
Shore went on to fantasize about he and the former fitness expert having matching director’s chairs with ‘Richard’ emblazoned on the back.
‘Yeah I would love to have Richard Simmons be a part of the feature film, physically to be there with me on the set,’ the former MTV VJ gushed.
‘And we can kind of hold hands and have our bagel and lox every morning. He’ll be like, “No! I didn’t say it that way. I said it this way, you stupid f***!” And I change it. You know what I mean? We want him there.
‘Ultimately, we would love, love him there. But if he doesn’t want to do it then I still have to [share] his message. It’s my mission to get his message out there to save lives.’
Last Wednesday, Richard – who has 921.6M social media followers – took to Facebook to state: ‘You may have heard they may be doing a movie about me with Pauly Shore. I have never given my permission for this movie. I no longer have a manager, and I no longer have a publicist.
