Paul Mescal has made a rare comment on his relationship with Gracie Abrams.
The heartthrob actor, 29, and singer, 26, have been dating for over a year, and now Paul has hinted at how serious the romance is.
Starring in a sizzling cover shoot for Rolling Stone, Paul gushed about his future family plans, admitting: ‘I would love to have a family. I’m not like, “I want them tomorrow,” but I would love to have kids.’
The actor was more coy when asked directly about Gracie though, as he said he was determined to keep his personal life private as much as possible.
‘I don’t know how to answer that,’ he told the magazinbe when asked whether there was a specific moment when he and Gracie decided to take their relationship public.
‘I actually do have an answer, but everything to do with that is deeply precious to me and I don’t want to.… This isn’t … I don’t really … umm … I want to protect those things fundamentally.’

Gracie, who is the daughter of Star Wars director, JJ Abrams, and the Irish heartthob made their first red carpet appearance at the History Of Sound premiere in June 2025.
The pair were first linked a year earlier when they were pictured sharing an intimate date at BRAT Restaurant in London.
During their inaugural summer together they attended a string of UK festivals and were spotted on low key London dates.
Fast forward to October 2024 and Paul publicly showed his support for his singer girlfriend’s career by showing up at her New York concert, where he was spotted singing and dancing.
A month later and Gracie returned the favour, walking the red carpet at Paul’s premiere for Gladiator 2.
In July Gracie shared her first social media snap of Paul, including a cosy selfie of the pair in an Instagram carousel.
Since May, Gracie has been photographed numerous times wearing a curious band on her left-ring finger, prompting further speculation about the relationship.
‘The speculation has been kind of mad for the last x amount of years,’ Paul lamented to GQ last October.

‘I’m not comfortable inviting any access into that part of my life. How I am in my private life is so precious to me because I get very little of it, and it might be public interest, but it’s not public-obligated information.’
Gracie previously dated Grammy-winning hitmaker Blake Slatkin from 2017-2022, while Paul ended his two-year relationship with three-time Grammy winner Phoebe Bridgers in 2022.
Whilst he has been enjoying a romance with Gracie for over a year, Paul alluded to a tough time in 2024 in his candid Rolling Stone interview.
‘I don’t think I was generally in a great spot psychologically last year, and I found it useful to be on my own for that — and also for the films themselves,’ he explained.
‘You become a different person anyway through your twenties,’ he continued. ‘I just feel like I was innocent in a way that is nice to think of, and kind of sad to feel like I don’t feel innocent like that.’
