Sir Paul McCartney isn’t retiring anytime soon, with insiders revealing that the 83-year-old will release a new album next year, as well as hitting the road.
The Beatles legend has been working on a new record, his first since 2020’s McCartney III, for most of the year and is said to be ‘90% finished’.
He hopes to have it completed and mastered by the end of the year with a release date of early 2026.
A source said: ‘Paul has been working on the album all year and initially hoped it would be out by the end of this year but as with most things plans change.
‘It’s not quite finished but the majority of the album is done and Paul is really proud of it.’
The insider added to The Sun that he then hopes to tour the new record, and has told his team to plan for live gigs around the UK.

Sir Paul is also preparing for his US tour, which kicks off in September in California and will wrap up at the end of November in Chicago.
The music legend shows no signs of slowing down after nearly six decades onstage, as he recently gave fans a glimpse into how he keeps his energy high.
The music icon, who also led Wings—makes a surprise cameo in the upcoming Spinal Tap sequel, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, hitting theaters this September.
Joining Elton John, 78, McCartney appears alongside the legendary fake band Spinal Tap, featuring Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer), for one final concert in the mockumentary.
And director Rob Reiner revealed what drives McCartney to keep performing to sold-out stadiums well into his eighties during an interview with AARP’s Movies for Grownups.
‘I asked Paul McCartney about this. I said, ‘There’s you, Mick Jagger, Elton John, and you still like to perform. What is it about you guys? Is it that you just love the music? And you love performing?’ Reiner began.
‘And he says, ‘Yeah. And the drugs,” he explained of McCartney’s quip, which is also a joke line in the upcoming movie.
Paul revealed his pre-show routine to fans recently, explaining that he sticks to a strict run down of rituals.

‘I always get called an hour before the show, well, an hour before I’m going to be needed,’ he explained. ‘In that time, I do certain things: I have a gargle with salt water, then I do my teeth, then I figure out what I’m going to wear, and then I have a kind of Chinese syrup solution you put hot water in.
‘It’s supposed to be good for your throat — if you’ve ever seen pictures of me before the show with a cup, that is what’s in it.’
Meanwhile The Beatles have revealed a brand new album will be released, featuring demos that have never been heard before as well as a remastered documentary.
It comes following days of speculation after the legendary rock band’s official social media channels teased an announcement earlier this week.
Posting on Instagram, it shared a series of images which each contained a number from one to four, though there was no caption for the post.
Now it’s been confirmed Anthology 4 will feature 13 previously unheard of demos for and sessions from the band, which is made up of Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ringo Starr and the late John Lennon and George Harrison.
The news comes ahead of a brand new book and documentary series launching this November, with streaming giant Disney+ behind the show.
Bosses have remastered The Beatles Anthology, which is now being billed as The Beatles’ Story, In Their Own Words.

It will also include a ninth and new episode which will feature Sir Paul, Ringo and George in behind-the-scenes footage from when they originally made the series.
George Martin, the original Beatles producer, has also remastered Anthology 1, 2 and 3 which all four will release in November as a boxset containing 191 tracks.
Earlier this year it was revealed how Paul Mescal had signed up will be starring in the Beatles biopic movies.
Each film will focus on one member of The Fab Four, with Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
All movies are set to be released in April 2028.
