The Traitors villain Paul Gorton has revealed the bizarre reason why Deal Or No Deal host Noel Edmonds threatened to kick him off the game show.
It emerged earlier this month the contestant in the new series of The Traitors is a game show veteran having once appeared on the former Channel 4 show.
Following his debut on the BBC series, eagle-eyed viewers recognised the business manager from an appearance on Noel’s game show back in 2010.
Paul was just 22 at the time of filming, unemployed, and was living at his mum’s house in Warrington with his girlfriend.
However, sadly Paul only walked away with 10p despite a jackpot prize of £250,000 being up for grabs.

Discussing his time on the show on the Chatabix podcast, Paul detailed the threat he received from Noel for disrupting the recording of the show.
Paul, who is a regular guest on comedian Joe Wilkinson’s podcast alongside comedian David Earl, discussed what he thought of Noel.
Reflecting on his appearance on the programme, Noel recalled the time Noel almost booted him off the show for asking to go to the toilet.
He said: ‘I’m on a high – everything’s fine, I’m playing with the camera and the audience. We’re about to go on to the show, it’s a normal day and I need a wee…
‘But we’re hurrying around and I thought I’ll just hold it in and go at the end of the next game. The next game was ages, I think this one must have been three hours.
‘Because I’m playing a character, class clown, but I’m petrified of Noel, he has my life in the palm of his hands. He’s not bantering with us too much, it’s short and respectful and you don’t really banter back.
‘I’ve held it in for this show, and then I’m bursting, but you know when you hold it too long and it comes out faster and harder and there’s a bit of a sting.
‘Next time you want a wee you can’t hold it that long, the seal is broke, you can’t do three hours of holding and then another three hours.

‘Half an hour into the next show I need a wee again, but I can’t hold it and I’m really squeezing. After every half an hour to 45 minutes there was a small break for commercials.
‘You stay where you’re stood, the make-up person comes over and you have a bit of a chat but then you’re back into it. I call the runner over and say I’m so sorry about this, I’m absolutely bursting here, I need to run for a wee.
‘So then the runner asks another runner, who asks Noel. He’s looking over and pointing at me.
And then Noel goes: ‘Paul, if you disrupt the show again I’m going to kick you off the show and replace you with someone else.
‘Everyone around did a few seconds of nervous laughter and then went ‘ooo’ and I thought I could just hold it, but worried I might actually p*** myself.’
‘So I’m like, I’m so sorry I really need to go.’ I think it was a joke, but also [a warning] to not do it again.’
However, sadly Paul only walked away with 10p despite a jackpot prize of £250,000 being up for grabs
It came as Paul’s ‘villain origin story’ was unearthed when fans realised he had appeared on Deal Or No Deal.
A clip circulating on social media shows Paul opening the last box of the game and being left with only 10p.
In the clip Noel says: ‘I didn’t influence you choosing that box in the beginning and now here I am involved in whether or not you are going away… oh for goodness sake.’
With Noel moving closer the box opens as he says: ‘Let’s have a look, this is what you’ve now got. 10p! Says it right to the end, isn’t it?’
He then looks disappointed with the result as the crowd echo his frustrations.
Many fans think this was the beginning for Paul’s villain persona as one wrote in reaction: ‘Paul from #TheTraitors was on Deal or no deal and won 10p. No wonder he’s evil.’
Another simply penned: ‘Villain origin story.’
Paul has been branded the new ‘Nasty Nick’ of reality TV as he found himself in the firing line on Thursday’s episode of The Traitors.
Viewer took to X, formerly Twitter, hailing him the ultimate villain as they saw him ‘turn on the crocodile tears’ as he realised his plan to double bluff the Faithfuls could backfire.
After Ash’s banishment, Meg or Paul were at risk of being murdered by the Traitors after they were the remaining contestants who had been condemned in the dungeons.
