The stars, who have been friends since they were two years old, also touched on their year-long feud that took place in 2005.
Nicole called the feud ‘a little blip’ in their 40-year-plus friendship, and Paris said ‘the world was definitely making a way bigger deal of it than it actually was.’
The best friends are set to reunite on screens for Paris & Nicole: The Encore, which will stream exclusively on Peacock. No air date has been released yet.

During the W interview, the journalist Kyle Munzenrieder asked about their 2005 feud and if it was addressed in the reboot.
Nicole said: ‘There was not necessarily a Will Smith and Aunt Viv sit-down. I know for people who followed The Simple Life, that was a very big part of it. There was a whole season where we didn’t shoot together.’
Adding: ‘But our lives are so braided together outside of that. Our relationship has spanned almost 40 years. So for us, I think that was more of a little blip.’
Paris answered: ‘The media during that time was very into creating feuds between people and exaggerating and inventing stories to sell tabloids.’
She continued: ‘The world was definitely making a way bigger deal of it than it actually was. Nicole and I have been best friends since we were two years old. She’s like my sister.’

The feud came at the height of their fame – thanks to their reality series The Simple Life – which took the socialite from their glamorous life in Los Angeles to low-paying jobs around the US.
Season one debuted on December 2, 2004, cementing their status as celebrities.
The popularity of the shoe led to a season two, debuting June 16, 2004, and season three debuting January 25, 2005.
Rumors of a falling out between childhood best friends Paris and Nicole began in April 2005, after Paris said she wanted pal Kimberly Stewart as her co-star.
Paris confirmed the feud in a statements soon after her Kimberly comments: ‘It’s no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. Nicole knows what she did, and that’s all I’m ever going to say about it.’
At the time, a People insider told the magazine that Nicole was jealous that Paris was invited to host Saturday Night Live in February 2005 and was getting more attention in the media than her.
The insider claimed that Nicole had screen Paris’ 2003 sex tape at a party she threw, but Nicole’s reps denied that ever happened.
Another source said their feud stemmed from Nicole growing out of her wild child partying ways and wanting to spend time with her then fiancé Adam Goldstein.

Paris and Nicole primarily film season four separately; filming took place in summer 2005.
In November 2005, Nicole addressed their feud during a Today Show appearance.
Nicole was asked on her friendship with Paris, and said that they ‘just grew apart’ and that the issue ‘just turned into a much bigger thing than it is.’
Nicole added that ‘It’s just not part of my life.’
The star was asked if she would talk to Paris if they ran into each other, to which Nicole said no.
One year later, in October 2006, Paris and Nicole appeared to have made up, as they were seen enjoying dinner together.
In 2007, Nicole told Harper’s Bazaar that they made up after Paris sent her an email for her 25th birthday, leading to meeting up and reconciling.
On the comments Paris made to the press during their feud, Nicole said at the time to W Magazine: ‘I can’t get made at her for talking s**t about me. We were in a fight! Our fight was so built up by the press. Half of it wasn’t even real.’
Paris said to W Magazine at the time that ‘there was no reason why we were fighting, it was just silly. We believed what other people were saying. People are really two-faced in this town, and they were trying to play us against each other. It made me sadder than any breakup with a boyfriend. It was just like the worst feeling ever.’
Season five (the final season) of The Simple Life aired in 2007, with the duo finally back to filming together.
Their new and upcoming Simple Life reboot – Paris & Nicole: The Encore – was something the ladies came up with organically.
In August, the pals were seen filming the reboot at a Sonic Drive-In in California.
Nicole said she texted Paris during the holidays last year and she mentioned to Nicole it was the 20-year anniversary of The Simple Life.

Nicole jokingly asked her if they should do something in celebration of the 20 year anniversary.
‘We gave it room to marinate, and it just felt right. No one else was involved at first,’ Nicole said.
Paris said that it was ‘perfect timing,’ after years of getting approached to reunite.
‘Every time I’m with Nicole, I feel like we’re teenagers again,’ Paris said.
During the upcoming reboot, Paris and Nicole stage an opera, which Nicole says came from their inside joke.
When they were seven, they wrote a song called Sanasa, and the word became a joke between them and was heard on The Simple Life.
‘What people need, even though they don’t know it yet, is for Sanasa to be an opera.’
They jokingly said that they plan on having a special for the 50th anniversary in the future.
On the upcoming show, Nicole said she was just excited to shoot the show with her friend and laugh and have fun together.

Paris said that her and Nicole together is ‘magic,’ and just ‘so much history behind it.’
‘For the opera, we invited hundreds of fans from around the world to come and watch. It was special to hear what an impact Nicole and I had on them,’ Paris added.
