Pamela Anderson’s firstborn son, Brandon Lee, has shared her real reaction to her recent Oscars snub.
The 57-year-old former Baywatch star has turned a corner in her career, gaining critical acclaim for her 2024 starring role in The Last Showgirl.
She earned her first Golden Globe nomination with the release of the Gia Coppola-directed feature, and amassed Oscar buzz.
However, the film did not become a contender when 2025 Academy Awards nominee list was unveiled last month.
Speaking with Variety, 28-year-old Brandon revealed that the snub has only made Pamela more ambitious and that she’s ‘hungry’ for her next Hollywood role.
‘The win is in the work,’ Brandon began, quoting his famous mom. ‘She’s already won the fans and her colleagues’ hearts.’

He added about the movie’s unexpected attention, ‘We didn’t go into this thinking that that was ever even a possibility.
‘It starts to become crazy when you’re being thrown into these conversations, and all of a sudden, you’re on an awards campaign, and people are resonating with the message.’
Reflecting on the whirlwind, the actor and businessman shared with the publication: ‘I think everyone gets caught up in the Oscars — which would have been an incredible honor — but Pamela is very happy with how the film has been received.’
And he noted, ‘If anything, it makes you hungry for the next opportunity.’
While a Best Actress in a Leading Role nod didn’t go to Anderson, Cynthia Erivo was recognized for Wicked, Karla Sofia Gascón for Emilia Perez, Mikey Madison for Anora, Demi Moore for The Substance, and Fernanda Torres for I’m Still Here.
Pamela has been good sport about the snub, telling Elle magazine, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win.’
She continued, ‘That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.’
Looking on the bright side, she said, ‘I couldn’t imagine [an Oscar win] anyway. I’m happy for the SAG nomination, that’s [voted on by] your peers. That’s really cool. This has been a long road promoting this film.’
