It comes after Paloma discussed the pressures of motherhood as well as her ‘painful’ split from long term partner Leyman Lahcine in an interview.
The singer, who shares two daughters with her former partner, made the candid revelations alongside a stunning shoot for Numero Magazine.
Promoting her latest album The Glorification of Sadness she said: ‘I found my personal entry into the world of motherhood really disturbing because of this; It was like I was expected to give up my whole identity to be a parent,’
‘But not let myself go at the same time, we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t’.
Paloma, who has opted not to make her children’s names public, welcomed her first daughter in December 2016 followed by a second in February 2021.
The hitmaker went on to say the new album chronicles her relationship break down from the French artist, 36, after nine years together.

Telling the publication: ‘[The album] explores all the stages and confusions of grief: defiance, empowerment, doubt, loss, joy, hysteria, rage, acceptance and so on’.
‘It’s very personal. It’s a journey. It’s about breaking up with someone you thought you would spend the rest of your life with and disappointment that that wasn’t to be’.
Adding: ‘It’s about making a jewel out of your pain’.
In October Paloma admitted her breakup from Leyman was ‘the worst thing that’s ever happened’ to her.
Speaking on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, she confirmed she and her ex are still in touch, but sometimes the conversations can be ‘harrowing’ – describing the separation as ‘devastating’, yet ‘liberating’.
Paloma used the grieving process of the relationship as inspiration for her new album and its lead single How You Leave A Man.
She said: ‘It’s about the worst breakup I’ve ever had, because it’s the longest relationship I’ve ever had, and we obviously had two kids together, so it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.
‘I couldn’t ignore it when I was writing, but also the most private I feel about it because there’s kids involved, so it’s weird but I’m hoping the songs speak for themselves.

‘I’m not mincing my words, am I, when I’m doing a song called How You Leave A Man? It’s like, “Oh I wonder what it’s about.” But I find it liberating.
‘I feel like the whole album, when you go from start to finish, it’s basically chronicling the stages of grief and it goes from the self destructive moments to the insular moments to the really vulnerable moments and actually the kind of unusual bits for me as a female artist are the empowered moments.’
Paloma previously described the breakup as ‘devastating’ and told how supporting messages from her fans online feel like a form of therapy.
