The Brewers are into the MLB postseason after winning the NL Central crown, and one radio host has a bizarre theory on how the team turned its season around.
On June 16, the team was just 34-34 when popular golf influencer Paige Spiranac threw out the first pitch. Bobbleheads of the Instagram star were given out as well.
From that point forward, the Brewers went 58-36, and ‘Wisco Sports Show’ host Grant Bilse thinks he knows why.
‘Brewers fans owe Paige Spiranac a great debt,’ he half-jokingly told the New York Post.
‘When the season was bleakest in April and May, her bobblehead night became a beacon on the horizon — something fans could look forward to.
Paige Spiranac was invited to throw the first pitch for the Milwaukee Brewers on June 16
Bobbleheads were also given away on that night, with some now being resold on Ebay
Spiranac loves to share racy golf snaps with her nearly four million Instagram followers
‘But by the time the day arrived, Brewers fans had actually become genuinely excited to welcome Paige to Milwaukee,’ he continued. ‘Golf Night 2023 almost became a second opening day … a new beginning for a season that had taken a turn for the better.’
Bilse had previously released a fake audio documentary a week after Spiranac appeared at American Family Field, when the team had won five of seven games in that span.
He referred to the bobblehead night as ‘the promotion that saved a season.’
Several Spiranac bobbleheads are being sold on Ebay, with one going for as much as $77.
Whether it was Spiranac or not, the Brewers have made the postseason for the fifth time in six seasons.
Milwaukee will face the Diamondbacks in the wild card round, starting tonight.
