Tempting Fortune’s host Paddy McGuinness has revealed the horrifying moment a contestant on the survival gameshow found a leech in a very unexpected place.
The TV presenter, 51, revealed that after taking a dip on one of the local rivers the unnamed contestant left to find one of the parasites on his penis.
Paddy, 51, told The Sun: ‘There are certain parts of the rivers that the locals call “leech city” – one of the contestants found one on his willy!
Joking that he was impressed by the ordeal for one reason, he joked: ‘It’s not a good look, but it’s impressive – if you can fit a leech on your willy, you’re doing well!
‘But it makes my skin crawl. I don’t know how they coped with that.’
Leeches, feared for their blood-sucking abilities, can vary significantly according to species, but they can be as large as eight inches long.

The temptations come at a serious cost, with the trailer for season two revealing that a simple Chinese meal will cost £4,500 during the 18-day jungle trek
Set on the tropical island of Langkawi, Malaysia, the show with a £300,000 prize pot returned for its second series on March 16.
For those who missed season one, set in the South African wilderness, Tempting Fortune follows 12 strangers as they travel across a hostile landscape to be in with a chance of winning a share of a £300,000 prize pot.
Living on rations, the size of the prize could dwindle if contestants are tempted by luxuries like pop-up pubs and spas and give into their desires for any of the trappings of modern life.

The adventure show with a twist has a varied cast of Brits for its second season, including a personal trainer, a hostage negotiator and a vicar.
‘David the vicar hasn’t told anyone else he’s a vicar, he’s playing the game,’ Paddy admitted.
‘But he’s in a tricky position because if he takes a temptation – particularly a secret one – he’s effectively lying to the others.
‘He’s going against the whole code of conduct when it comes to the Church. And we’ve got some girls who love their straighteners and make-up.
‘How are they going to cope when they take that away?’

Paddy, best known for being the host of Take Me Out, admits that he thinks he could get used to living on rations if he were competing in the show.
However, there are certain comforts that he thinks would seriously tempt him, even if that meant upsetting his fellow contestants.
He said: ‘The living on rations, I think I’d become used to that.
‘Creature comforts for me are things like good kitchen roll – I love the strong soaker-upper stuff.
‘I’m not bothered about having access to my phone or internet.
‘My Achilles heel is that when I’m wet through and wearing dirty clothes, they would only have to put a clean pair of underwear and socks out for me: “What’s that? £50k for pants and socks?’ I’ll take it!”‘
Tempting Fortune airs on Channel 4 at 9pm.
