The brother of singer D4vd has ignited online fury by launching his own music career amid the Celeste Rivas murder case.

D4vd, real name David Burke, is currently jailed in a detention center on first-degree murder charges, as well as charges of child sexual abuse and mutilation of human remains, over the gruesome death of 14-year-old Rivas.

Rivas's dismembered body was found decomposing in the trunk of an abandoned registered to D4vd in September 2025.

The musician, 21, who has since been dropped by his label Interscope Records, has pleaded not guilty to all charges and a preliminary hearing has been set for May 26.

Now, with D4vd locked away behind bars, Caleb Burke - the embattled star's younger brother - has seized the opportunity to release original songs about 'sex' and 'love' under a pseudonym.

The decision has been slammed as 'tone-deaf' by social media users, who flocked to X to express their outrage and to demand the entire Burke family be 'locked up.'

'Whole family tone-deaf as hell…. Dude really saw his sibling facing murder charges and dropped sex songs!!' one angry X user tweeted out on Tuesday.

Another added: 'Yeah I ain't feeling that. He could've been did music but as soon as this weird sh*t come out about his brother he want to launch a music career?'

Many accused Caleb of 'exploiting' Rivas's tragic death for personal gain as well as 'capitalizing' on the major attention the case has garnered in recent weeks.

On Monday, Caleb, who goes by the artist name 'Kova' on social media, dropped his follow-up single S*x

However, some X users came to Caleb's defense as they argued he is 'a whole different person' than D4vd and that he 'shouldn't be judged for his brother's crimes'

He promoted the song on Instagram by uploading a stylized video of himself mouthing the lyrics, 'Cause girl, you're sexy as hell / From heaven you fell / All on my tongue / But don't kiss and tell'

Both songs are currently available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music.

Caleb can be looked up on Spotify under the name 'Kova,' but his real name is credited as the songwriter, singer, composer and producer of both tracks, as reported by TMZ.

Caleb appears to have a close relationship with his jailed older brother, even appearing in a mini Spotify film in 2023 documenting D4vd's rapid rise to fame.

In the documentary, Caleb speaks about living with D4vd, along with their younger sister Emily Burke, at the home of their parents, Dawud Burke and Colleen Burke, in Houston, Texas.

'I've lived with him for, like, 15 years of my life. He's alright,' he said during the brief on-camera appearance.

TMZ also reported that Caleb has performed onstage with D4vd at past concerts and that he previously went by the name 'Cvleb.'

Notably, Caleb, along with his parents, was summoned to appear in court back in February amid the LAPD investigation into Rivas's gruesome murder, as reported by CBS News at the time.

Caleb can be looked up on Spotify under the name 'Kova,' but his full name is cited as the songwriter, singer, composer and producer of both tracks, according to TMZ

Just two days before D4vd's arrest, Caleb released his debut single Imaginary Love, while promising his 683 followers more 'new music soon!!'

However, prosecutors were unsuccessful in their attempt to have the singer's family appear before a grand jury.

The fury around Caleb's music career launch comes just one week after chilling new court documents revealed D4vd allegedly used chainsaws when he dismembered 14-year-old Rivas and a 'burn cage' to destroy evidence.

The LA County District Attorney's Office now claims Burke  as he continued to pursue a sexual relationship with her.

Prosecutors provided the shocking details in a nine-page preliminary trial brief filed last month, when the singer also appeared during a 40-minute hearing.

After they broke up last April, Rivas became jealous over Burke's relationship with other women, according to the brief.

Rivas 'threatened to disclose damaging information about her relationship with defendant to end his career and destroy his life,' the documents state.

At that time, prosecutors say, Burke was set to release his first solo album and had a multi-million dollar career at stake.

With that allegedly on his mind, Burke sent an to pick Rivas up at her home in Lake Elsinore, , at around 8.40pm on April 23 last year, and she was dropped off at the home he was renting in Hollywood Hills at around 10.10pm.

'Knowing he has to silence the victim before she ruined his music career as she had threatened, very soon after her arrival at his home, [the] defendant stabbed the victim to death multiple times and stood by while she bled out,' the brief alleged.

'At no time did he call law enforcement... to take her to the emergency room to attempt to save her life.'

Instead, Burke allegedly tried to cover up his tracks by sending a text message to Rivas asking where she was.

But following the murder, Burke allegedly drove about an hour north of his property in Los Angeles to Santa Barbara as he tried to dispose of some evidence.

Burke then arrived home the following morning and went to a show interview.

That same day, he also allegedly ordered a shovel from Home Depot and two days later, he stopped texting the teenager.

By May 1, prosecutors said Burke also decided to order two chainsaws, and on May 5, Amazon delivered a body bag, heavy-duty laundry bags and a blue inflatable pool to the home he was renting.

Burke allegedly made those purchases under the name 'Victoria Mendez.'

He then allegedly returned on May 8 and May 31 to Santa Barbara, where prosecutors said Rivas's identification was found in January in an isolated area off Highway 154.

The final part of his efforts to dispose of evidence came on July 7, when Burke ordered and had Amazon deliver a 'burn cage' to his rental home under the same fake name 'as part of his plan to incinerate evidence,' prosecutors allege.

They go on to claim that Burke 'took horrifying measures to destroy and discard the victim's body.

'After placing her body in the blue inflatable pool to prevent her blood from spilling onto his garage floor, defendant used a chainsaw and perhaps other tools to cut off her limbs,' prosecutors alleged.

'Small blue plastic fragments were found in the victim's remains, which were collected by the LAPD's Forensic Science Division, Trace Analysis Unit.'

Prosecutors said forensics matched those plastic fragments to the inflatable pool Burke had bought weeks earlier.

They also claim that in an effort to 'distance himself from the victim, he amputated her left ring and pinky fingers because her ring finger contained a tattoo of his name.'

Those fingers have never been recovered.

Once Burke was done mutilating the body, prosecutors say he put Rivas's head and torso in the cadaver bag and placed her limbs in a garbage bag, placing both in the front trunk of his Tesla.

He then allegedly lied to his friends and business associates when they started to notice a strong smell of decay around the house.

Before he left for his tour at the end of July, he parked the Tesla on the street around the corner from the house he was renting.

The court filing also details how Burke first met Rivas in January 2021, when she was just 11 years old.

The two then allegedly began a sexual relationship in November 2023 when Rivas was 13 and Burke was 18.

The teenager's mother, who reported her missing three different times that same year, had said her daughter was dating a guy she had never met, named David.

But Burke denied to deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office that he knew Rivas was a minor, as he showed investigators a picture from Rivas's yearbook that was in his cell phone, according to the court filing.

Once Rivas was discovered safe, authorities also allegedly found a phone number listed in her phone belonging to the singer.

Her family took the phone away, but prosecutors say Burke continued to pursue her - even paying a junior high school student in her class $1,000 so that the classmate could get a phone for Rivas.

'Throughout 2024, the victim spent a significant amount of time with defendant, including summer weekends at his home in the Hollywood Hills and traveling with him to , , and to meet his family.'

'Text exchanges between the victim and defendant contain references to sex, pregnancy, abortion and use of the Plan B emergency contraceptive.'

Prosecutors further alleged that they broke up in November 2024, but they continued to communicate.

The singer was formally charged earlier this month with , continuous lewd acts with an individual under 14 and mutilating human remains of a body.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office explained the special circumstances for , which includes 'lying in wait, committing this for financial gain or murdering a witness in an investigation.'

The charges, filed in , carry a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole and the death penalty.

Burke's defense lawyer entered not guilty pleas to all counts during his first court appearance last month.

His popularity led to collaborations with stars such as SZA and Kali Uchis.

When the teenager's body was discovered, Burke had been on a tour in support of his first full-length album. The tour was later canceled.

On Wednesday, defense attorney Blair Berk asked Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Charlaine F Olmedo to seal the preliminary trial brief.

'The prosecution filed an unusual brief that appears to be a very one-sided view of what is anticipated as evidence in this case,' Berk said. 'We have a very real concern about the reasonable possibility of the jury pool at a future trial to be tainted.

She continued: 'We are concerned about prejudging witness credibility and certainly witnesses who have yet to testify, and any compromise of the preliminary hearing itself, allowing witnesses to tailor their testimony.'

The judge denied Berk's request. 'Here in LA County, the jury pool is extremely large and LA has a plethora of high-profile cases,' Olmedo said. 'This case is not unique in that prospect.'.

Burke's attorneys have asked his preliminary hearing to be continued to May 26, but the singer will appear for another hearing on May 12.
