Our Geordie Shore regrets: As Chloe Ferry reverses her botched cosmetic procedures after TV trolling, her co-stars reveal how having sex and fights on camera have blighted their careers

Geordie Shore exploded onto screens in 2011, quickly earning itself the reputation as the country’s wildest reality show.

Sex, fist-fights and surgery have all played out on screen, whilst the show has launched the careers of celebs and influencers including Vicky Pattison and Charlotte Crosby.

But this week one of the MTV series’ biggest stars Chloe Ferry revealed how much the show has impacted her life, as she soon became a target for trolls.

Comments about her looks led Chloe, who was just 19 when she joined Geordie Shore, to spend thousands on cosmetic surgery, a decision she now deeply regrets.

And Chloe isn’t alone. Whilst the stars of Geordie Shore have the show to thank for their careers, their decision to allow cameras into every aspect of their wild single years has inevitably impacted their new lives, as thirty-somethings with new career aspirations and families.

We take a look back at some of the show’s most famous castmembers and how the series has shaped them a decade on.

Chloe, 29, shot to fame on the hit MTV show 10 years ago and quickly became a fan favourite when she was just 19-years-old.

But after entering the TV world, Chloe quickly became a target for trolls who criticised her looks which affected her ‘mental health and confidence’ causing her to spend over £50,000 on cosmetic procedures.

She admitted she was ‘naive and vulnerable’ as she was offered surgeries while still a teenager which she went through with as she believed it would ‘solve all my problems’.

In an attempt to turn back the clock, Chloe took her Instagram Stories on Monday and revealed she is in hospital about to reverse her surgeries.

Chloe revealed she is ‘correcting’ her botched surgeries and she wants to educate fans so they don’t make the same ‘mistakes’ she has, delcaring: ‘Today is a new chapter.’

Chloe penned: ‘I’m writing this post as I’d like to share with you all something personal to me that I have never publicly addressed. Something I don’t speak about as it was a sensitive topic which I found hard to openly discuss.

‘Being put into the public eye at 19 years old was very daunting, I was naive and vulnerable.

‘I was ridiculed for my looks and my weight amongst other numerous insults through social media and the press which affected my mental health and confidence massively, the young woman I once loved being become self conscious looking for perfection.’

She continued: ‘With this attention came offers of cosmetic surgery which I thought would solve all my problems, give me back my spark and self love, this wasn’t the case.

‘I suffered more depression, anxiety as well as physical discomfort. A decision made without understanding the pros and cons, a decision made on me hoping it would make me feel whole again.

‘After years of working on my inner self, I feel like I’ve grown and entered a new stage of my life where I want to be transparent with my followers and take you along in a journey to correct my previous work and educate you all on the harsh truth of what I have endured alone for so long.’

Chloe previously revealed she has spent over £50,000 on cosmetic procedures, which have included two nose jobs, liposuction and breast augmentation.

Less invasive procedures also include an eyebrow lift, dental veneers, dermal cheek fillers and Botox

Last June, Chloe revealed the results of her procedure to fix a botched surgery scar on her face, after admitting the damage ‘ruined her life.’

Charlotte Crosby

Back in August 2023 it was revealed that Charlotte Crosby, arguably Geordie Shore’s biggest stars, had quit the MTV/Paramount+ show for good.

During an exclusive chat with MailOnline about her new show Geordie Stories: Charlotte’s New Baby, the reality star explained why she will never go back to the programme which made her name, declaring ‘It’s not my cup of tea no more. Not about that life’.

‘Like, I don’t want to go into a place where there’s drama, or there’s people slagging you off, I’m so like not in that phase of my life anymore.

‘I’m a grown up who would like to distance myself from people and energies that actually bring us down.

The reality star, who is due to give birth to her second daughter, returned to the programme in 2022 to film The Reunion, bringing her partner Jake Ankers and her daughter Alba Jean with her.

But the reunion was short-lived after an on-screen row saw Charlotte walk away from the show.

She broke down in tears as she opened up about her ‘immense guilt’ and ‘sadness’ at bringing her family into the show.

‘Basically, there was a silly argument over a high chair of all things, I just left. I just needed to get out of that environment,’ she explained.

She said she felt ‘riddled with guilt’ as it was the first time she raised her voice in front of her young daughter, blaming her emotions on the environment she was in.

Vicky Pattison

Geordie Shore favourite Vicky broke down into tears back in 2023 as she spoke of her regret at having sex on-screen.

The television personality, 37, spoke out on her telly past whilst taking part in a very different show –  BBC Two show Pilgrimage: The Road Through Portugal which saw her join seven other stars to embark on a modern-day Catholic pilgrimage.

Opening up about her reasons for taking part in the programme, Vicky admitted she hated the fact she became known for sleeping with her exes on Geordie Shore.

She said: ‘I thought I was so grown up but I was still so wet behind the ears and naive, and didn’t really have the tools necessary to navigate the new space I’d found myself in. I was really unprepared for it.

‘I’ve spent the last 10 years of my life trying really hard to change people’s perceptions of me.

Sophie Kasaei

Unlike Vicky and Charlotte, Sophie, 35, is still starring on Geordie Shore, currently appearing in season 25 alongside Chloe.

But she even admitted recently that there are huge downsides to her reality show reality, explaining how it’s virtually impossible to escape the cameras anytime during filming as they are placed ‘absolutely everywhere’.

As her life moves on from her wild, single days, the Geordie Shore cameras have continued to follow Sophie through her relationship with The Only Way Is Essex star Jordan Brook.

The couple of three years have been trying for children recently, and the serious nature of their relationship led to an emotional moment for Sophie recently, which she tried to hide from the cameras.

She broke down in tears while she was filming the latest series of the MTV show in Thailand, explaining how she pulled her co-star Abi Holborn aside for a private chat but cameras soon came along to film them.

Sophie was forced to confront the crew, revealing how she looked into the camera and said: ‘No’.

Speaking to The Sun, she said she became emotional after fellow Geordie Shore star James Tindale proposed to his girlfriend during the trip: ‘I wasn’t upset because I didn’t get proposed to, but James proposed to his girlfriend and I had a moment in the toilets, and Abi is my best friend in the world so I was like ‘Abs I need a word.’

She added: ‘I had a word with Abbie and was like ‘Abs I can’t wait for this moment to happen for me,’ and I got a bit teary, but the cameras found us. Nothing is a secret with this show.’
