The faith-based film is being based loosely on the posthumously released Charles Dickens story The Life Of Our Lord, which is a little-known story that depicts the life and times of Jesus Christ.
Jang, known as a visual effects pioneer in Korea, is not oly serving as director but also co-writer of the screenplay he penned with Rob Edwards, who’s known for his work on Disney’s The Princess And The Frog.

The script for The King Of Kings follows Charles and Walter Dickens, voiced by Branagh and Davis, respectably, as they embark on a multi-dimensional adventure as the master storyteller engages his youngest son’s vivid imagination with the fascinating life of Jesus, his well-known trials and tribulations, and his notable colleagues and foes.
Jang and company are planning to make the biblical storytelling as easily understood and relatable, especially to children of all ages.

The Guatemala City, Guatemala native landed his first major role in the biblical drama film The Nativity Story (2006), and then ultimately had his breakthrough as a struggling folk singer in the musical drama Inside Llewyn Davis (2013).
