Orlando Bloom shared two cryptic, philosophical quotes alluding to his split from fiancée Katy Perry just one week after TMZ reported they ended their on/off nine-year relationship.

On Monday, the 48-year-old devout Buddhist Instastoried user @taomeditations’ post featuring the following quote from Gautama Buddha: ‘Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most.’

Orlando – who boasts 7M Instagram followers – also shared daily encouragement from Japanese Buddhist leader Daisaku Ikeda: ‘The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next.’

The 40-year-old pop star has made headlines for crying onstage like she did Monday night at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, forming a heart with her hands while saying: ‘Thank you Australia for always being there for me.’
