Oprah Winfrey showed off her tiny plate of Thanksgiving leftovers after dropping around 50lbs amid her incredible weight loss journey.
The 71-year-old TV personality – who recently flaunted her slimmer frame at the gym in Santa Barbara – jumped to her main Instagram page on Friday to give fans a look at the ‘little turkey sandwich’ she made with a few tasty ingredients.
Back in late 2023, the star had admitted to taking weight loss medication – like Ozempic or Wegovy – which she used as ‘a tool’ to drop pounds.
In the reel, Winfrey could be seen standing next to a spacious wooden counter inside a kitchen with a plate next to her.
‘What’s better than the actual Thanksgiving meal is the day after Thanksgiving,’ she explained to the camera.
Winfrey then dragged over a circular plate with a small sandwich cut in half while adding, ‘And the perfect little turkey sandwich made with Parker rolls and cranberry sauce.’

She then placed pieces of the roll to cover the two halves and lifted the plate off the counter.
‘Everyone, here’s to leftovers!’ the media personality excitedly said while showing off her tasty meal.
In the caption of the post, Winfrey penned, ‘Here’s to Thanksgiving leftovers! My meal for the next few days,’ followed by a turkey leg emoji.
The talk show host flaunted her slimmer figure in a pair of fitted pink leggings as well as dark navy top with a scooped neckline.
Her long locks were pulled back away from her face with a thick headband and a smart watch was worn on her left wrist.
Nearly two years earlier in 2023, Winfrey admitted to taking a weight loss drug and told People at the time, ‘I now use it as I feel I need it, as a tool to manage not yo-yoing…’
She added, ‘The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for.
‘I’m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself,’ the star said and explained she had recommended weight loss drugs to people before making the choice to also take the medication for herself.

Once she starting taking the GLP-1 medication, Winfrey said that it helps ‘quiet the food noise.’
The TV personality – who had once weighed 237lbs at one point – also previously told People that she had reached her goal weight of 160lbs, although she said ‘it’s not about the number.’
However, despite her weight loss journey being aided by medication, Winfrey told the outlet that she also sticks to a fitness regime to also shed pounds and maintain a lower weight.
After disclosing that she had taken weight loss medication to achieve a lower weight, she exited the board of WeightWatchers in February 2024.
Winfrey further opened up about her weight loss journey and the epiphany she had on the podcast The Jamie Kern Lima Show.
She recalled finding out that when it came to losing pounds – it was beyond her control.
‘I was like whoa it’s not even my fault – all these years, all those diets, all those times I tried, I came back and I tried again and I lost it. I’m climbing up the mountain I’m suffering, I’m starving.’
‘I’m not my fault,’ she emotionally continued to the host, before adding, ‘That was the moment and that was 2023.’

However, despite restricting her diet, she explained, ‘Three days [after the show] I was five pounds heavier and a week later I was 10 pounds heavier.’
The topic was soon shifted to weight loss medication, and the star admitted, ‘I was judgmental [about people using weight loss drugs] because I have been so judged.
‘The bottom line is we don’t know what that what the medications do in the long term – but we do know what obesity does in the long term.’
Winfrey continued, ‘Yes, so the damage to your body versus taking the risk of “I’m going to control the weight [and] manage the weight to the best of my ability…”‘
Back in January during one of her podcast episodes, the star had a discussion about GLP-1 medication with Dr. Ania Jastreboff.
‘One of the things that I realized the very first time I took a GLP-1 was that all these years I thought that thin people had more willpower.’
Winfrey further added, ‘They ate better foods. They were able to stick to it longer. They never had a potato chip.’

She then explained that what she had thought was ‘willpower’ was actually the absence of ‘food noise.’
‘And then I realized the very first time I took the GLP-1 that, they’re not even thinking about it. They’re eating when they’re hungry and they’re stopping when they’re full.’
