Oppenheimer star Emma Dumont appeared in a flirty thriller alongside Rumer Willis called What Lies Ahead before they came out as trans masculine non-binary.
The star, 30, made the revelation on their Instagram profile, changing their bio to add in ‘they/them’ pronouns instead of ‘she/her.’
‘They identify as a trans masculine non-binary person,’ a representative for Dumont said in a statement for TMZ.
In their personal life, Dumont will go by the name ‘Nick’ but will carry on being known as ‘Emma’ for their film and TV career.
Emma has updated their bio with the new name, adding ‘Nick Dumont’ to their profile.
Emma is best known for their roles in Oppenheimer – where they played Oppenheimer’s sister-in-law Jackie – and the superhero TV series The Gifted, based on the X-Men series.

When they first meet, Raven is immediately flirty, telling Jessica: ‘You must be Jessica, hey. Wow, you’re so much prettier than Kyle said.’
Blushing, Jessica replies: ‘Oh gosh, thanks.’
‘So how long have you been dating my brother?’ Raven asks.
‘Almost a month,’ Jessica says.

Recent Instagram photos show the star with a new, short, choppy haircut, a departure from their usual long, straight hair
Jessica soon realises that Raven stole her phone and things take a turn for the worst as her flirty behaviour turns sinister.
Running her hands through Jessica’s hair, she suddenly pulls out a gun.
‘We’re going to play by my rules, OK?’ she tells her. ‘See if you are worthy of my brother. Don’t get brave on me sweetie, I’ll shoot you so fast you won’t know what hit you.’
At the end of the trailer, Jessica screams for help while trapped in Raven’s car.
In another scene from the film, the pair share a very flirty dance together in a bar.
Despite recent social media activity, Dumont — born Emma Noelle Roberts — has not publicly addressed their coming out.
The star’s latest Instagram posts signal a significant shift from their glamorous red carpet image.
In May, Dumont debuted a bold, short, choppy haircut – a departure from their usual long, straight hair.
‘Nice, new era,’ a fan commented on the change at the time.
Emma has also embraced a more casual style, as seen in their Tuesday post, where they’re rocking t-shirts and sunglasses.
Emma is next set to star in the horror film New Me, as Andriana. The plot follows a young mother as she peels back the layers of forgotten trauma in order to emotionally connect with her baby and husband, but pays a terrible price.
There is no release date for the film yet.
