One Tree Hill alum Shantel VanSanten and Hallmark star Victor Webster’s finalized divorce includes a pet custody arrangement with eye-watering late fees.

The former couple — who split  after just 20 months of marriage and a whopping three wedding ceremonies — reached a settlement in mediation that included a visitation plan for their dog Nova, per TMZ.

Court documents revealed Victor will have custody of Nova, but Shantel will enjoy extended visitation periods with the four-legged friend.

However, Shantel is obligated to keep Victor informed about Nova’s whereabouts, ensuring regular updates and communication regarding their pet’s well-being. 

If Shantel fails to return Nova for a period exceeding three weeks, she will be required to pay her ex $10,000 for each additional day the dog is not returned.

The pet custody arrangement will prove useful, given that both exes regularly share photos of their dog, Nova, on their individual Instagram accounts, and have even established a dedicated profile for their beloved pooch. 

Shantel and Victor wed in 2022 with three ceremonies and split in January of this year. 

The actors met on set of 2017’s TV film Love Blossoms and were just friends until their relationship took a romantic turn the following year. 

The Canadian actor made the filing in January 2024 as the documents cited their date of separation as the 10th.

The do not have any children together and the reason for their separation was ‘irreconcilable differences.’

The couple tied the knot in three separate ceremonies back in late 2021 which were highlighted by Brides at the time.

According to the publication, Victor had proposed on top of a mountain in February 2021 when they began planning two wedding ceremonies before circumstances caused them to add a third.

Their first ceremony took place in August of that year as they enjoyed an intimate courthouse wedding on the anniversary date of Shantel’s grandparents after her grandfather passed away.

She explained to Brides: ‘When my grandfather unexpectedly passed away on Father’s Day, the heartbreak was unbearable; I had been planning on him walking me down the aisle in Minnesota.

‘In the midst of my grief, I looked at Victor and said I wanted to do a spontaneous civil ceremony on my grandparents’ wedding date, August 9. 

‘The idea of my grandparents being reunited and watching over our ceremony from above gave me some peace. 

‘They were married for 63 years had such a special, deep love. They were the example to me of how love is a choice and takes work. It wasn’t perfect, but their love was always pure’

As if that already wasn’t enough the couple were joined by 48 friends and family for a ceremony in wine country Napa, California.

The third gathering in Shantel’s hometown of Luverne, Minnesota.

The theme of that wedding was vintage and prairie-inspired as she explained: ‘We wanted to blend into the nature around Blue Mounds Park. 

‘The leaves on the trees were vibrant fall colors, so I wanted to play with those tones and let nature inspire the colors: dusty rose, mauve, blush, burgundy, beige, tan, caramel, and toffee.’
