Bethany Joy Lenz addressed the rumored feud with her One Tree Hill co-star, Hilarie Burton Morgan.
The actress, 43, admitted that there were ‘some bizarre misunderstandings’ recently but cleared the air on Wednesday’s episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast.
‘I love Hilarie,’ Lenz said. ‘I have always and will always and I don’t have any problem with her.’
The singer-songwriter — who revealed how she got roped into a cult for 10 years — added: ‘There have been some bizarre misunderstandings that I really hope we can figure out one day, but I love that girl.’
Earlier this year, fans noticed that Burton Morgan had unfollowed Lenz on Instagram in March and speculated that there was a rift between the former costars.

According to some fan theories, Burton Morgan was allegedly upset that Lenz’s book cover was to similar to the vintage flair and magical aesthetic design of her 2023 memoir, Grimoire Girl.
Burton Morgan took to her Instagram Story after Lenz’s book reveal earlier this year and wrote: ‘I don’t think imitation is the highest form of flattery, I think it’s annoying,’ per Page Six.
In One Tree Hill, Burton Morgan played Peyton Sawyer from seasons one through six, which aired from 2003 to 2009. Meanwhile, Lenz played Haley James Scott on the show for its entire nine-season run, which ended in 2012.
Nearly a decade later, in 2021, Lenz and Burton Morgan reunited to host a Drama Queens rewatch podcast with fellow co-star Sophia Bush.
In March, Burton Morgan was noticeably absent from a promo video that Lenz and Bush, 42, shot to announce their YouTube channel.
Several months later, Burton Morgan announced that she was stepping away from the podcast and explained that it was because the podcast is heading into season seven, which was when she left One Tree Hill.
‘We have reached the end of my behind-the-scenes experience on the show,’ Burton said on their in July podcast, which now features their former co-star Robert Buckley in her place.
However, Burton Morgan has not completely stepped away from One Tree Hill and is involved in the upcoming Netflix sequel series.

In the upcoming project, she and Bush will reprise their roles as Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis, respectively.
It has not yet been confirmed if Lenz will return to reprise her role.
In August, Lenz said she was ‘open’ to playing Haley James Scott again but did not confirm if she would join for the sequel series.
‘I am absolutely open to being a part of a revisiting to Tree Hill. But as far as this particular one, I don’t know. It’s so early,’ she told Variety before adding she is not involved in the project at all.
‘I don’t know if it’s in pilot. I don’t know if it’s in series. I don’t know where it’s at,’ she shared.
Lenz is preparing to release a memoir titled Dinner For Vampires, in which she tells her story about how she was under the control of the ‘domineering minister’ of The Big House Family for a decade before she finally left the cult.
Amid Lenz’s promo tour for her upcoming book, she has opened up about how she was in a cult during production of One Tree Hill and how that deeply affected her relationships with her co-stars.
On Call Her Daddy, Lenz said that it was ‘hard’ and her relationship with Bush was strained while they were filming.

‘I think we were both approaching life from a similar way, but from opposite perspectives,’ she said.
‘She would have been much more quick to listen to my perspective and hear me than I would have been at the time,’ she continued.
‘But I think fundamentally there was probably a similarity,’ she explained.
However, Lenz said that she and Bush have still not had a deep conversation about the topic and reflected on their past.
She said they had spoken about Lenz being distant from the cast during the show’s run.
