Olly Murs promised his wife Amelia he’d be coming ‘straight home’ after his show at Sunday’s BBC Radio 2 In The Park, as he took to the stage days after the birth of their second child.
The singer, 41, and the fitness influencer, 32, revealed on Thursday they’d welcomed a baby boy named Albert, a little over a year after the birth of their daughter Madison.
Speaking to fans at the beginning of his show, Olly offered a quick message to his wife Amelia, saying: ‘I’m here at Hylands Park with all these beautiful people, I love you, and when I finish I’ll be straight home I promise!’
During his performance, Olly also paid tribute to his late friend Caroline Flack, as he told fans he was dedicating his song Dear Darling to someone who had ‘taken their own life.’
Caroline tragically died by suicide in February 2020, and Olly has since paid tribute to her on stage on numerous occasions.
Olly said the song was dedicated to ‘someone that I wish was here today, and [could] be in this moment.

‘I can say when I wrote this song I didn’t realise the impact it would have, not just on my life, but the people around me and then particularly some of my fans that are here tonight.
‘So if there’s someone that you wish was here today, someone that you miss very, very much, I’d love you guys to help me sing this song.’
Olly joins stars including Def Leppard, Louise Redknapp, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Anastacia taking to the stage for the second day of Radio 2’s In The Park Festival in Chelmsford.
To announce the birth of Albert earlier this week, Olly shared a snap of the family walking out of the hospital holding a car seat.
Alongside the picture, he told his social media followers: ‘Walking out as four. Welcome to the world, our little Albert’.
The couple announced Amelia’s second pregnancy in April.
In a black and white video, the family of three were seen walking through the park with Madison sat on her father’s shoulders.
She wore a denim jacket embossed with the words ‘BIG SIS’, while Amelia held a reel of snaps of the baby scan.

They penned in a caption: ‘We’re so egg-cited to share this..… Another Baby Murs on the way.’
Olly and his bodybuilder partner tied the knot in July 2023 and announced the arrival of their baby girl on April 17 2024.
Olly has said that he’s planning to be much more present this time around, after leaving home just 48 hours after Amelia gave birth to support Take That on tour.
The singer told the crowd at the time how he had been juggling nappies and late nights, but felt guilty he had been working away from home.
He said: ‘It’s been the most craziest time. Cos obviously on one hand I’ve got this beautiful baby girl, my wife is at home looking after her with the nappies, and the sleepless nights.
‘And I’m on tour with Take That. I feel guilty!’
Earlier this year, Olly candidly confessed he broke down in tears after he was forced to leave her just two days after her birth.
He admitted to the emotional toll the decision had on him months after when he realised he had never got to know his daughter as a baby.
Speaking with new dad Mark Wright on their Heart Breakfast show, Olly confessed: ‘It was really hard for me as I had to leave two days after the baby was born to go on tour with Take That.’
He explained: ‘I didn’t really process it at the time and a few months later me and Amelia were chatting and I just broke down in tears as I never got a chance to actually get to know this little baby.’
Supporting his pal amid his decision to leave his family for work commitments, Mark added: ‘But you were doing it all for her future.’
While touring with Take That, Olly raced home to Essex after gigs to spend time with Amelia and Madison.
In the exclusive clip obtained by the Daily Mail last April, Olly explained: ‘But this week I’ve been home.
‘I’ve done the nappies, I’ve done the late nights and I can’t wait to stay on tour.
‘I’m joking! Honestly, she is truly awesome. I never thought I’d be a dad, so I can’t quite believe it.
Pointing to his manhood, Olly shouted: ‘It works! And genuinely I’m super, super proud. And to be on this tour, it’s just topped it off. So what an amazing time for me right now.’

While the couple revealed last month that they couldn’t wait to expand their family, they also got candid about some of the challenges of parenting, admitting it wasn’t all ‘happy and Instagrammy’ all the time.
Speaking to OK!, Amelia confessed that motherhood ‘can be quite lonely’ and detailed how she struggled after giving birth to Madison.
Explaining that she had to have an unplanned C-section, she said: ‘We were planning a natural birth, but Madi was in a precarious position. She was transverse so we didn’t have an option.’
The bodybuilder added how she was taken aback by the ‘brutal’ recovery and found it difficult not being able to follow her passion for the gym as much.
Amelia said: ‘The recovery was brutal and I wish people had been more honest about that. Maybe it’s because I’m active, but I didn’t realise how much I wouldn’t be able to do afterwards.’
She went on to say that she was making an effort to be more honest about the difficulties of parenting while Olly’s been away.
Olly echoed the need for candidness, saying: ‘There’s no point being all happy and Instagrammy and, “It’s all amazing.” I’m very honest. Being parents is unbelievable, but at the same time it’s extremely hard.
Their pregnancy announcement came just one year after they announced the arrival of their baby girl on April 17 last year.
