In September, Rodrigo broke her silence over speculation that her song, Vampire, was also Swift.
When the topic was brought up, the singer initially questioned, ‘How do I answer this?’ and continued, ‘I mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about.’
‘I’ve never done that before in my career and probably won’t. I think it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing,’ she told The Guardian, at the time.
Still, the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star said she was ‘very surprised’ when she learned that ‘people thought’ the track was about the Shake It Off singer.

Some lyrics that raised eyebrows from fans included, ‘As you sunk your teeth into me, oh/Bloodsucker, famef***er/Bleedin’ me dry, like a godd**n vampire.’
Both Olivia and Taylor first crossed paths in 2021 and seemingly sparked up a budding friendship as Rodrigo’s music career began to rise.
She previously told Billboard that same year that the Bad Blood hitmaker had written to her after dropping hits such as Drivers License.
‘I don’t want to divulge too much because it’s really sweet and personal. But she talks a lot about how, I think, you make your own luck in the world. And when you do kind things to others, good things come your way,’ the actress explained.
However, in the following years, fans had begun to speculate that all was not well within their friendship when the duo no longer were seen hanging out.

In 2021, Olivia released her album, Sour, and faced copyright issues with some of the tracks, including Deja Vu.
The star had re-recorded a melody from Taylor’s Cruel Summer, causing Rodrigo to later give both a co-writing credit as well as royalties to Swift. She later dealt with a similar situation with Paramore.
‘I love Cruel Summer. That’s one of my favorite songs ever. I love the yell-y vocal in it, the harmonized yells she does. I feel like they’re super electric and moving, so I wanted to do something like that,’ the beauty told Rolling Stone also in 2021.
Vampire is included on Rodrigo’s upcoming second studio album titled, Guts, which dropped on September 8, 2023.
Later in the evening, Twitter blew up after Swift announced that she was releasing her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, which will drop on April 19
Following the announcement, one X user asked: ‘Did I just hallucinate or did Taylor Swift just announce her brand new album and not Reputation (Taylor’s Version)
One processed that Taylor described the project as a ‘secret’ she’s ‘been hiding for two years’
‘A new album Taylor Swift?’ one raved. ‘Are you f**king kidding me?!’
The single was released earlier on June 30, and quickly became a favorite amongst fans, jumping to the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Other tracks on the LP include All-American B***h, The Grudge, Bad Idea Right? and also Teenage Dream. While talking to The Guardian, she discussed the songs on Guts, such as All-American B***h.
‘I’ve experienced a lot of emotional turmoil over having all these feelings of rage and dissatisfaction that I felt like I couldn’t express, especially in my job,’ she expressed to the outlet.
‘I’ve always felt like: you can never admit it, be so grateful all the time, so many people want this position.’
She added, ‘And that causes a lot of repressed feelings. I’ve always struggled with wanting to be this perfect American girl and the reality of not feeling like that all the time.’
Olivia hinted that the entire album is, ‘so much about growing up and finding your footing in the world.’
