Olivia Rodrigo fans have revealed that they queued up for as long as 12 hours in a bid to nab tickets for her hotly-anticipated Australian Guts 2024 tour.

The American pop star, 21, is set to take to the stage for eight shows in Melbourne and Sydney in October, and fans have frantically tried to nab their tickets on Thursday.

The general sale kicked off at 1pm AEST and, after warnings that the presale on Ticketek was ‘chaos’, some fans went to extreme lengths in a bid to secure their seats.

One megafan took to TikTok on Thursday to reveal that they had spent 12 hours queuing up at the Ticketek box office in Sydney to score their tickets.

The fan, called Ella, shared a video allegedly showing the huge group of determined fans who lined up in person, rather than queuing online, ahead of the general sale.

Ella claimed she woke up at 12.45am to head to Ticketek’s agency office atĀ Penrith Panthers Leagues Club to queue up for tickets in a 12-hour long wait.

She claimed the first person arrived to queue at 11pm on Wednesday, with a very long wait until tickets finally went on general sale at 1pm on Thursday.

Ella later shared an update in the comments excitedly confirming she got tickets, but said many people in the queue were left disappointed after not nabbing any.

Ahead of the general sale, Olivia added more dates to her Guts tour Down Under amid the sky-high demand for tickets.

The Deja Vu hitmaker was originally set to take to the stage at just four shows across the two cities, but added another four additional dates to her touring schedule.

She originally announced that she would be performing at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on October 9 and 10, but has now additionally added October 13 and 14.

Olivia will also take to the stage at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on October 21 and 22, as well as the originally scheduled shows on October 17 and 18.

Within mere hours of the general sale kicking off, all of Olivia’s Australian shows completely sold out as they proved extremely popular with fans.

Many fans compared the frantic ticket-buying process to that of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, which famously saw Aussie fans scrambling to get tickets for the popular gigs.

Due to very high demand for the shows, fans were limited to purchasing just four tickets each.

Tickets to her show were believed to have ranged in price from around $75 to $400, depending on seating and packaging options.Ā 

VIP packages and experiences were also available to fans who want to take their concert experience to the next level.

The more expensive GA Pit Experience tickets allow early entry into the venue, a photo opportunity in front of the VIP backdrop and the purchasing of pre-show merchandise before the general public.Ā 

A limited number of $20 Silver Star tickets were also made available, with Olivia saying she wanted to make it as affordable as possible for her fans.

Joining Olivia on the Australian leg is the talented New Zealand singer-songwriter Benee, who will open all four shows.

The tour supports Rodrigo’s second critically acclaimed studio album Guts, which has bagged her six Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
