Olivia Munn’s first acting role since beating bilateral breast cancer involved ‘a lot of sex scenes.’
The 44-year-old Hit-Monkey actress plays Jon Hamm’s onscreen lover Samantha ‘Sam’ Levitt in Jonathan Tropper’s nine-episode drama Your Friends & Neighbors, which premieres this Friday on Apple TV+.
‘My character is wanting something more from Jon’s character,’ Olivia told People on Tuesday night.
‘But the only thing she’s getting from him at this point is this sexual relationship…So it’s really important that we really feel how much she’s leaning on this and trying to really, like, connect with him through these moments.’
Munn explained that there was ‘a lot of discussion’ ahead of time between herself, Hamm, and Tropper, as well as intimacy coordinators Lizzy Talbot and Crista Marie Jackson in order to choreograph the love scenes more authentically.
‘My character has to bite him,’ the half-Vietnamese beauty noted.

‘I was nervous and he just kept saying, “It’s okay. You can bite really hard.” And then I did. And he’s a pretty tough guy. He’s a very tough guy!’
The 54-year-old Emmy winner portrays Andrew ‘Coop’ Cooper, a hedge fund manager who resorts to petty theft after losing his job and divorcing his wife in the critically-acclaimed drama, which has already been renewed for a second season.

Olivia – who relies on stylist Yael Quint – put on quite a sideshow in a sleeveless silver gown that was open at the sides for the NYC premiere of the show at DGA Theater on Tuesday night.
Munn is cancer free after undergoing five surgeries – including a lymph node dissection, a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy in 2023-2024 – but she’s still ‘working through different medications.’
