Olivia Colman, Timothée Chalamet, and Hugh Grant Take London by Storm on Wonka Promotional Tour

The stars of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel, Wonka, have been on the promotional trail for the film in London this week.

Their latest stop was at Global Radio Studio in Leicester Square, as Olivia Colman,  Timothée Chalamet and Hugh Grant were spotted at the location on Thursday.

Early reviews for the origin story have hailed it ‘surprisingly good’, and the cast appear keen to keep momentum going for the film.

During the outing, Olivia, 48, opted for business chic in a cream tie blouse with a pair of wide-legged suit trousers and a navy coat to complete the look.

The Oscar-winner toted a black woven bag on her arm and boosted her frame with a pair of black court shoes, which featured gold metal detailing.

Olivia, who plays Mrs. Scrubbit, was again showing off her newly-dyed blonde locks, which she recently debuted at the Wonka world premiere on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, leading man Timothée, 27, opted for a more casual look in a knitted grey jumper, which he teamed with a pair of slouchy leather trousers.

The Call Me By Your Name actor completed the outfit with a pair of colourful arty Nike trainers and a silver chain necklace.

Timothée was carrying a takeaway Starbucks coffee cup in his hand as he exited the Global Studios building with his castmates after the show.

Meanwhile, Hugh Grant, who plays an Umpa Lumpa in the film, cut a dapper figure in a navy overcoat which he wore with jeans and a grey scarf.

Olivia’s latest role is in the hugely anticipated Wonka, which tells the story of the chocolatier before he opens his chocolate factory.

It is slated to officially release in the UK on December 8 just in time for Christmas.

The film is based on Roald Dahl’s classic 1964 novel titled Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and has been directed by Paul King, who previously helmed Paddington and its sequel.

Those lucky enough to catch a preview screening of the movie have hailed leading man Timothée as ‘whimsical’ and ‘charming’.

‘I’m not a film critic and so many others are doing it on such an eloquent level, so I’ll just say this about Wonka. Wonka. GOOD! Very good. I of course cried. Give it all the golden tickets,’ posted one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Critics have also added their praise to the movie with Collider senior producer Perri Nemiroff writing: ‘#Wonka is a super charming delight powered by an exceptional & pitch-perfect performance from Timothée Chalamet.’

‘It can get quite silly and there’s a few plot points that are a tad on the thin side, but that couldn’t stop such an impossibly sweet film with a hefty & very effective dose of sincerity from warming my heart.’

Variety/The A.V. Club film critic Courtney Howard called Wonka ‘a winning confection, filled with perfect amounts of charm, whimsy & poignancy, powered by pure imagination & bright, nimble musical numbers.’

‘Timothée Chalamet is a charisma factory. His full committal is intoxicating,’ Howard added

‘Hugh Grant [as an Oompa-Loompa] in exceptional IDGAF mode.’

IndieWire chief film critic David Ehrlich simply wrote: ‘Wonka good. Paul King king.’

Roger Ebert associate editor Robert Daniels ‘surprisingly, mostly, enjoyed WONKA’ and called Timothée ‘a really gifted comedic actor, smartly leveraging his star persona for laughs.’

‘The staging is good and there’s lots of heart and whimsy. I did not however like the barrage of fat jokes. Poor form in a delightful film,’ Daniels scoffed.
