Nigel Farage’s team have defended the use of ‘fake’ pictures of the former politician being beamed onto famous city landmarks a bid to get him votes from the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewing public ahead of Sunday’s series final.
The ex leader of the Brexit Party’s publicity team was accused of ‘stopping at nothing’ in an attempt win fans and decorated his social media feeds with mocked-up pictures of him being beamed onto well known sights.
In one image he is seen on the side of one of London’s famous black cabs, while in another he’s seen on the side of a double decker bus, while another shows him on a billboard on the side of a building in New York’s Times Square.
It was claimed Nigel’s team would ‘stop at nothing’ as they were desperate to see him win over the public and be crowned King of the Jungle this year, but they insist they are not trying to force a triumph on his behalf.
A representative for Nigel told MailOnline: ‘Throughout his time in the jungle, Nigel’s team have continued to think of innovative and fun ways to help spread the word as we became concerned that he was being denied TV time.’

An ITV source told the Mirror: ‘Nigel’s team will stop at nothing to try to get him the jungle crown.
‘They have claimed the show is against him, the editing is unfair, and now they are faking photos to give the idea he is more popular than he is and to make people think his face is all over London landmarks.
‘Like many of his claims during the Brexit campaign, all is not what it seems.’

Former politician Nigel, 59, became one of four remaining campmates on Friday along with This Morning host Josie Gibson, 38, former boxer Tony Bellew, 41, and ex Made In Chelsea cast member Sam Thompson, 31, after JLS singer Marvin Humes, 38, was eliminated from the show.
Josie was seen reaching the end of her tether with Nigel after he stopped her from doing a Bushtucker Trial during Friday’s episode.
Josie became camp leader by default following Danielle Harold’s departure and the This Morning host, 38, took a seat on her throne as JLS singer Marvin Humes, 38, brought news that the latest Bushtucker Trial was Christmas-themed.
Former Big Brother winner Josie jumped at the opportunity to do the trial only to be batted down by former politician Nigel, 59, who insisted that he had the experience needed to succeed having done a number of challenges earlier in the series.

He is also seen on a billboard on the side of a building in New York’s Times Square in one moked-up image
But Nigel’s argument did not go down well with Josie, who insisted he simply wanted to do another trial because he wanted more airtime and needed ‘to prove himself to the nation’.
After Marvin informed the group of the trial, Josie said: ‘I’m going to do it. If you want me to do it, I’ll do it.’
Former boxer Tony Bellew, 41, asked: ‘Are you going to be scared of anything that’s landed on you? Because right now we need stars?’
Josie said: ‘I’m scared of all of it… but you feel like you need to win stars and maybe I’ve not got the minerals.’
Nigel explained his reasons for wanting to go saying: ‘I did a lot of Bushtucker Trials in the early phases, you boys have now caught up. So it’s my turn. My turn, simple as that.’
Marvin said: ‘I’m happy to do it.’
Tony said: ‘I’m the same.’
Josie said: ‘I feel like I need to prove myself a bit now.’
Nigel said: ‘Josie, you don’t need to. You’ve got to go into this saying I’m not frightened of whatever they’re going to throw at me. If you can’t say… then you shouldn’t do it, is my view.’
Josie replied: ‘I was saying I want to prove myself and you were going, “You shouldn’t do it, you shouldn’t do it”.’

Former Made In Chelsea cast member Sam Thompson, 31, said separately: ‘Josie, if you want to do it, you do it.’
Josie said: ‘No, it’s alright. Let Nige do it, he wants the air time.’
In the Bush Telegraph Josie said: ‘I should have fought my corner a bit more but he wants the airtime because he wants to prove himself to the nation.’
Meanwhile, Nigel’s girlfriend has suggested the producers of I’m A Celebrity were editing the show in a way that makes it look like he’s falling out with his campmates.
Laure Ferrari, who went public about being the arch Brexiteer’s long-term partner last week, said she thinks his fellow celebrities are actually ‘really nice to him’.

There have been number of high profile bust-ups between the politician-turned-TV presenter and former campmate, YouTuber Nella Rose, while in the jungle about racism and cultural appropriation.
Despite this, as well as an argument with ex campmate, First Dates star Fred Sirieix about Brexit, Laure told GB News she thinks her lover is having a good time with his campmates.
She added that while she saw Nella as a ‘snowflake’ and Fred as ‘annoying’, Nigel had ‘made peace’ with them and seemed ‘very content’ in the Australian rainforest before their departures.
Laure, who had kept her life with Nigel a closely guarded secret for years and encouraged him to go on I’m a Celebrity, says she thinks Nigel is having fun and is ‘in his element’ on the programme.
In an interview with GB News the 44-year-old suggested the rows with other people shown on ITV weren’t the full story.
She said: ‘I think his campmates are really good, really nice to him. I know that sometimes with the edit you may think ‘oh, they keep having a go at him’.
‘I don’t believe that for one second he would look so relaxed and happy if his campmates were picking on him everyday.
‘So I think there’s quite a camaraderie that you don’t really see on screen.’
She added: ‘He looks very very relaxed, very content, in his element – he’s an outdoorsy person.’
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues Saturday 9 December at 9.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
