Nicole Scherzinger Settles with Pussycat Dolls Founder Post Tour Failed

Nicole Scherzinger has officially resolved her legal battle with Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.

The 47-year-old singer, who rose to fame as the frontwoman of the musical group, was initially sued by the 64-year-old founder in 2021 over a reunion tour that never came to be.

Last Tuesday Scherzinger notified the court that Antin’s lawsuit and her countersuit are both being dismissed, per Us Weekly.

It comes one year after attorneys for the pair filed court documents stating the ‘parties have reached a settlement in principle, subject to the execution of certain written agreements.’

Scherzinger and Antin reached a tentative settlement in May, but requested additional time to draft the paperwork and establish terms.

Then in July, Antin’s lawyer David Blau told the court that the women had been unable to iron out the deal.

‘The parties and their counsel and representatives are continuing their efforts to resolve this matter and have spent substantial time negotiating terms and various written agreements to resolve their dispute,’ Blau told the court. 

He argued that due to ‘professional commitments’ and the ‘multi-faceted structure and terms of the settlement,’ more time was needed, asking that both parties be present for a hearing.

However, Scherzinger said she was preoccupied with her Broadway show Sunset Blvd.

A hearing was scheduled for this month, during which the judge would have set a trial date, unless the parties presented the terms of their settlement.

Amid the back-and-forth, earlier this year Blau attempted to drop Antin as a client, according to Us Weekly.

He petitioned the court for permission to withdraw as the dancer’s rep, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ that made it a challenge for him to ‘effectively represent’ her.

But ahead of the court’s ruling, Scherzinger and Antin reached a ‘confidential settlement.’ 

Scherzinger was face and lead voice of The Pussycat Dolls from 2003 to 2009, with the collective disbanding in 2010.

In September 2021 Antin sued Scherzinger for allegedly refusing to participate in the Pussycat Dolls’ reunion tour, saying the frontwoman was demanding complete creative control and 75 percent of the profits. 

She noted that Live Nation gave her a $600,000 advance on the tour, but demanded the funds be returned once the reunion fell apart. 

The Your Love singer’s attorney claimed the suit was ‘meritless’ in January 2022, saying she had asked to renegotiate her contract after the COVID-19 pandemic repeatedly delayed the group’s concerts, which were meant to promote their comeback single React.

Later that month, Scherzinger announced the tour had been cancelled on social media, news that came as a surprise to her fellow Dolls, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutter.

The Right There artist countersued in August 2022, demanding $1.1 million in damages and accusing Antin of mismanagement and misappropriating funds.

She claimed Antin breached ‘her duties and obligations’ to her, ‘damaged [Pussycat Doll’s] goodwill, and wasted the funding for the planned [Pussycat Doll’s] reunion tour, ruining [Pussycat Doll’s] ability to do business through self-dealing, waste and fraud.’

Scherzinger’s lawyer alleged ‘[Antin] made the misrepresentation to Live Nation to induce it to pay her a $600,000 advance, which she took, although she has never shown [Scherzinger] what she did with those funds.’

The star also claimed she spent $100,000 for tour expenses, but never received an advance.
