Nicole Kidman has teased that she is moving ‘fast and furious’ with the production of Big Little Lies’ long-awaited third season.
The Australian actress, 56, first confirmed plans for a third instalment of the hit drama series in November, four years after the second series debuted on HBO.
She has now hinted that the upcoming series could be on screens much sooner than fans expected as she teased that they are in ‘good shape’ ahead of filming.
Speaking to Vanity Fair with her co-producer and co-star Reese Witherspoon, she teased: ‘We’re moving fast and furious, and Liane [Moriarty] is delivering the book. Yeah, and we’re in good shape.
‘The rest is – we need to shut up, because there’s this whole thing that you should never talk about something until you’ve done it.’

Reese remained coy as she said her rule is to not talk about new projects until she is on set because she doesn’t want to make promises to fans amid any uncertainty.
‘I have a rule, it’s called, “Don’t be full of s**t”,’ Reese – who stars as Madeline in the smash hit series – quipped.
‘It’s called “The No-BS Rule in Hollywood” because how many people tell you they’re doing X, Y, Z, X, Y, Z?
‘It’s like, “I don’t want to talk about it until I’m standing in the costume on the set”, then I will confirm to you that it’s happening, it’s really hard to stop it once you’re standing on set in costume.’
Nicole, who stars as Celeste, recently revealed that filming has not yet kicked off as she is still speaking with her busy co-stars to develop a timetable to shoot.

The Hollywood sensation also shared that it was her 15-year-old daughter Sunday who persuaded her to bring the show back after season two.
‘My daughter is the one who watched both of the series and went, “Okay, there’s just no question, there has to be a third”,’ she told Elle.
The teenager took an evenhanded view of the tempestuous relationship between Nicole’s character Celeste and her mother-in-law Mary Louise, played by Meryl Streep.
Nicole recalled: ‘[Sunday’s] like: “Celeste, she’s not coping in the second one, what is she doing? I could kind of see the point of view of Mary Louise”.’
The Expats star also explained why she and Reese waited so long to bring the show back, after season two aired all the way back in 2019.
She shared: ‘It needed time because there’s actual unbelievable depth to the next chapter of these women’s lives and their children’s lives – because children grow up, and that’s kind of fascinating.’

The HBO show, based on Liane Moriarty’s novel, was meant to be a one-season miniseries but was revived for another instalment due to its huge success.

The hugely-popular show boasted an A-list cast including Laura Dern, Alexander Skarsgard, Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz and Adam Scott.
Nicole first confirmed plans for a third season of Big Little Lies in November while appearing onstage during the CME Group Tour Championship Friday in Florida.
‘I loved Big Little Lies because it sort of came along at a time in my life when I had my children and I was thinking I was going to retire and then this situation came along, where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce that show,’ she said.
‘And then all of you watched it and made it a massive success,’ she told the audience, adding: ‘We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI.’
