Nicole Kidman Announces Exciting News After Split from Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman has shared major career news after announcing her separation from husband of 19 years Keith Urban.

The Australian superstar revealed in a statement on Tuesday that she is returning to Chanel as an ambassador following the debut of Matthieu Blazy as the House’s new creative director.  

‘I am thrilled to be joining Chanel as it begins its new chapter with Matthieu at the helm,’ the 58-year-old said.

‘As someone who has such an appreciation for Haute Couture, I am so looking forward to witnessing Matthieu’s vision for the oldest Haute Couture House still in operation and having the opportunity to wear what I know will be gorgeous creations.’

She went on: ‘Chanel has always been ahead of the curve, shining a smart and gracious light on women, and I am sure Matthieu will be no exception, just like Karl did in his time.’

Blazy celebrated Kidman’s return to Chanel with his own statement, looking back on one of her standout projects with the House led by a famed Aussie director. 

‘From the unforgettable Baz Luhrmann film to her countless red carpet looks, Nicole has always been part of the history of the House,’ he said. 

‘Having worked with Nicole in the past and now reuniting with her at Chanel is a dream come true and couldn’t make me happier.’ 

Kidman took to social media to mark the exciting venture, posting a carousel of images from Chanel’s Paris Fashion Week show.

One snap even showed the star with Aussie director Baz, whom she worked alongside in films such as Moulin Rouge! and Australia. 

‘Thank you @chanelofficial for having me and my girls. So excited to be a part of it with you @matthieu_blazy,’ she captioned the post. 

Nicole was supported by her children on Monday evening as she made her second notable public appearance since confirming the end of her marriage. 

The Hollywood star announced her split from husband Keith Urban last week amid claims the country star has already moved on and is romantically involved with a younger woman in the music industry. 

But she was in good company while attending Chanel’s showpiece catwalk presentation during Paris Fashion Week.

Kidman was joined by children Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret while mingling with a star-studded guest list in the French capital. 

With denim a recurring theme, the actress looked typically stylish in an understated white shirt and jeans as she posed for photos alongside her two daughters with Urban. 

Eldest child Sunday, 17, also opted for jeans beneath a smart red sleeveless sweater, while her younger sister Faith, 14, wore a bleached denim jacket over her elegant black minidress. 

Mother and daughters were joined by journalist Lucia Hawley – the daughter of Kidman’s sister, Antonia, as they made their way into the Paris venue on Monday. 

The Hollywood star announced her separation from country star Urban, effectively drawing a line under their once rock-solid 19-year marriage.

Kidman filed to end the marriage last Tuesday – citing irreconcilable differences – as a source claimed to the Daily Mail that Urban has already moved on with an unnamed female musician. 

The well-placed Nashville music business PR source said: ‘The rumour is that he’s with a younger woman in the business.

‘It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.’
