Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban once had the strongest marriage in Hollywood, but the dream crumbled this week with the shock news they had split after 19 years together.
The actress and musician’s separation was confirmed by Daily Mail on Monday.
Nicole, 58, filed for divorce on Tuesday – citing irreconcilable differences.
The pair first met at the G’Day LA gala ball in January 2005, but it wasn’t until months later that they went out on a date.
During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2013, the actress confessed it took Keith another four months after they met to ask her out.
The Moulin Rouge star recalled: ‘I’m like, “You didn’t love me at first sight, you didn’t notice me,” and he’s like, “Yes I did but I just didn’t let on,” but we kind of met and then about four months later he called me.’

The talk show host responded, ‘Four months later? That’s really playing it cool to wait that long.’
‘Yeah, that’s a long time,’ Nicole agreed. ‘That’s why I’m like, ‘You really didn’t like me when you first met me.’ He said he had other things he had to take care… Guys right, men?’
During an appearance on TV show Interview in 2018, Keith admitted he had to build up the confidence to call Nicole.
‘I’d never have thought she’d see anything in a guy like me. But at some point I plucked up the courage to call those numbers, and she answered,’ he said.
‘We started talking, and we talked and talked and talked and talked, and it was effortless.’
Nicole and Keith made their public debut as a couple at the 2006 Grammy Awards in February.
They avoided the red carpet but were seen looking loved-up inside the annual awards ceremony.
Just months later in May, Nicole announced her engagement to Keith at the UNIFEM’s 30th anniversary gala.

Keith sang one of his hits, which included the line: ‘I’m gonna love you like nobody loves you, and I’ll earn your trust making memories of us.’

During his stint in rehab, model Amanda Wyatt alleged Keith had cheated on Nicole with her prior to their wedding.
‘He’s done it once and he will probably do it again,’ she told Daily Mail at the time.
‘I know him as well as anyone and while he can be charming and loving, he is also someone who is constantly fighting his demons.
‘I hope their marriage works – but leopards don’t change their spots. Keith is a guy who has everything, but he is never truly happy.’
Keith denied the allegations at the time.
