Nicole Eggert has said she has not been contacted about appearing on the Baywatch reboot but is open to the idea just days after the comeback of the highly-popular beach drama was announced.
The 52-year-old actress – who has been documenting her battle with a ‘very rare form of breast cancer’ on social media – talked about the possibility of making a return to the series.
She told TMZ on Wednesday that she has been in contact with Baywatch’s production company Freemantle over a documentary on the series that she has been working on.
Nicole explained: ‘We have the Baywatch documentary that is ready to be released and you know the timing of it is really working out. But I haven’t talked to anybody as far as me being part of it as talent or anything like that.’
The blonde bombshell starred on the series as lifeguard Summer Quinn over 44 episodes from 1992 to 1994 and could be potential role under a few conditions.

She said: ‘To be a part of a reboot I guess that would really depend on what that would look like.
‘I mean am I going to put on the red bathing suit? Of course not. Not these days. But if it was to be a parent or a senior lifeguard in the office or something to that extent sure. Or a fun little cameo or something like that.’
Last month Nicole revealed more cancer has been found in her lymph nodes amid her battle with a ‘very rare’ form of breast cancer.
The actress, who first disclosed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2023, told Inside Edition that she had just learned doctors had found more disease as she undergoes treatment.
Eggert said she ‘kicks herself’ over not regularly checking her breasts and said tissue from the breast implants she got aged 19 made it harder to detect any anomalies in her chest.
The star stated that after gaining around 25 pounds and feeling pain in her left breast beginning in October, she underwent a mammogram and three biopsies – which resulted in a diagnosis of stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer.
She said: ‘When I felt it, my heart dropped and I was like oh my god. Nobody could take me, so I walked into every breast care center. It’s horrifying because every day and every minute that passes, you know it’s growing.
Only a month later, a mammogram finally confirmed her fears – Eggert had stage 2 breast cancer.

The star notably portrayed the role of Roberta ‘Summer’ Quinn on the hit series, Baywatch, for its third and fourth seasons; seen with Pamela Anderson (right) in 1992
She said: ‘My heart dropped, I lost all hearing, everything sank. It’s named invasive cribriform carcinoma. It’s very rare.’
‘The self-exams, I’m telling you, I kick myself. That’s the one thing I should have been doing.’
However, she says, tissue from her breast implants made self-exams difficult, saying: ‘If I didn’t have them and I had my smaller, natural breasts, I am sure I would have felt it much sooner’ – before branding the implants a ‘huge mistake.’
Nicole says that she has been in touch with most of the cast as she has worked on the upcoming documentary.
Another former castmember who TMZ also talked to about a potential return is Brande Roderick who like Nicole has not been approached about a return but is open to the possibility.
The 49-year-old actress has said she has been in contact with executive producer Michael Berk and has said she is willing to play a character’s mother.
Brande portrayed Leigh Dyer over 22 episodes from 2000 to 2001 and is excited that the franchise is coming back and that it is great that the younger generations are interested in 1990s culture.
Earlier this week it was revealed that Baywatch is set to return but there was no indication that series stars Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff will be returning as well.

It was created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory J. Bonann as it was inspired by Bonann’s time as an LA County lifeguard.
The four will serve as executive producers on the upcoming hour-long drama.
The original series was pitched by Bonann and was passed on by CBS and later the pilot Baywatch: Panic At The Malibu Pier was sold to NBC and aired as a TV movie and was so successful that it was picked up for a 12-episode season.
Lara Olsen has been tapped by Fox and Freemantle as the showrunner for the new series according to Variety.
The synopsis for the revamped Baywatch reads: ‘Daring ocean rescues, pristine beaches, and iconic red bathing suits are back, along with a whole new generation of Baywatch lifeguards, who navigate complicated, messy personal lives in this action-packed reboot that demonstrates there’s the family you’re born into and the family you find.’
The original series was a worldwide phenomenon as it aired in more than 145 countries at one point which is more than any other TV show.
