Nicola Peltz’s Father’s Shocking Outburst at Brooklyn’s Wedding Sparks Beckham Feud

On Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s wedding day an incident involving her billionaire father Nelson so horrified the groom’s family that it as good as ended relations between the two sides.

Sources close to David and Victoria Beckham claim that businessman Nelson ticked off a guest at the £3million knees-up for using a lavatory in his £76million Florida mansion rather than one of the portable toilets in the marquees in his grounds.

His outburst was, I’m told, very much in keeping with his controlling manner throughout the day in April 2022 which he saw his youngest daughter marry Posh and Becks’ eldest son.

It is understood that Brooklyn is aware of Nelson’s outburst but, even if he isn’t, he knows there is no love lost between his mum and dad and Nicola’s.

And so the 26-year-old influencer would have been in no doubt that posting a happy birthday message to mark Nelson’s 83rd birthday on Instagram on Tuesday, after shunning all of his father David’s 50th birthday celebrations earlier this year, would deeply hurt his once beloved parents. He also failed to wish the former England captain a happy birthday on social media.

What is even sadder is that relations between David and Victoria and their son and daughter-in-law have become so fraught that his gesture came as no surprise.

In the offending post he shared with his 16 million followers on Tuesday evening, he pointedly displayed a photograph of himself and Nicola, 30, standing behind Nelson as he sat on a chair holding his phone with a picture of one of his sons on the screen.

‘Happy Birthday Nelson x we love you,’ wrote Brooklyn, finishing off the sentence with a red heart emoji.

It was almost calculated to upset David, who is an emotional being at the best of times but never more so than when it comes to his children. It’s as if the post was being used as a weapon in the rift.

‘All of this is devastating,’ says a friend of the family. ‘Sadly this was to be expected though, Brooklyn isn’t talking to his parents and instead he is very much making it clear that the Peltzes are his priority.

‘Of course this is heartbreaking for the family. The Beckhams blame this on Nicola, who they see as controlling their son. But he must have known how much this would hurt them. He was once so close to his parents they were inseparable but then Nicola came along and things changed.

‘The whole Beckham family found Nelson utterly foul at the wedding. They didn’t particularly like him before but they really didn’t afterwards.

‘They were kind of in their corner having a lovely time and trying to enjoy their son’s big day but there was certainly an atmosphere. Brooklyn is obviously aware of the strained relations between his parents and Nelson. He knows they don’t like him very much. It all feels like Brooklyn and Nicola are rubbing David and Victoria’s faces in all of this.’

Just a few weeks ago Brooklyn failed to wish his grandfather Tony Adams – Victoria’s dad – a happy 76th birthday but did mark the anniversary of Nicola’s grandmother’s death on Instagram with a gushing message. ‘That broke hearts,’ says a friend of the family.

The feud has escalated at an extraordinary speed since I first revealed the fall out in April. While both sides were dealing with it privately, Brooklyn and Nicola’s repeated no-shows at David’s 50th birthday parties ensured that it was going to be played out in public.

First he missed a bash in Miami where David’s friends from his Inter Miami football team celebrated his milestone with him. Next was a ‘boys’ fishing trip’ to the Scottish Highlands, leaving David to go with his younger sons Romeo and Cruz.

The couple also snubbed a big family party at the Beckhams’ countryside home in Great Tew, Oxfordshire. Then they failed to join them for an idyllic trip to France where they visited a vineyard in Bordeaux and dined at a Parisian restaurant.

Finally, they didn’t turn up for a big dinner at Notting Hill restaurant Core, alongside some of the family’s closest friends such as Eva Longoria, Gordon Ramsay and Guy Ritchie.

Since then there has been no communication between the parties despite attempts by the wider Beckham/Adams clan to help smooth things over.

And one friend of both sides who most definitely hasn’t help matters is Sir Elton John.

Despite being friends with David and Victoria for over 30 years, Sir Elton has shown unwavering support for his godson Brooklyn and his wife.

On Monday, Brooklyn shared a besotted post dedicated to his US actress wife as he marked five years since he proposed, declaring it the ‘best decision ever’.

And while neither of his parents gave the post a social media ‘like’, one of the top comments is from Elton who tagged the pair and wrote: ‘Happy Anniversary to the sweetest, most loving couple.’

His husband David Furnish had earlier posted a fond comment: ‘Happy Anniversary to the gorgeous couple.’

Despite the social media hysteria over the comments, the Beckhams have very much risen above it. They accept that, as Brooklyn’s godfather, Sir Elton has every right to support him.

However, it does beg the question of why the singer is taking sides in the rift. One associate points to how he has supported Prince Harry and Meghan Markle amid their fall out with the Royal Family.

Elton famously lent the couple – along with their son Archie who was a baby at the time – the use of his home in the South of France, flying them there in his private jet.

The singer was close to Harry and brother William’s mother, the late Princess Diana and many observers have accused him of taking Harry’s side in the rift between the two brothers.

‘Look at him,’ said one. ‘He can’t help but take a side.’

Talking of which, the Beckhams’ youngest son Cruz made it very clear where his affiliations lie this week.

When cruel trolls questioned Cruz’s ability as a musician on Monday when he posted a video of him playing a guitar, Brooklyn found himself in the firing line, too, after one trash-talker confused Cruz with Brooklyn and made a joke about his attempts to carve careers in photography, cookery and racing.

‘Are you going to stick with this job or going to become a race car driver next or something?’ they wrote.

Cruz replied: ‘Wrong brother mate.’

Another indication that Brooklyn and Cruz are at odds came when Brooklyn and Nicola jetted into London to film an ad for French clothing brand Moncler but failed to tell the family, including Cruz, 20.

He was deeply hurt that his eldest brother didn’t call or suggest a meeting, despite being just a couple of miles away.

‘That was bloody awful and cruel, Cruz has never done anything to Brooklyn, they always had the most wonderful relationship,’ says a family friend.

‘It’s a case of what next? None of this surprises them any more. The family has had to accept a future without Brooklyn. It’s clear that Nicola wants him with her family and he wants to be with her.

‘And that is absolutely heartbreaking.’
