Nick Mohammed Reveals Co-Star Kicked Off ‘Celebrity Traitors’ for Removing ‘Basic Human Right’

As the Celebrity Traitors finale looms, the pressure is mounting in Ardross Castle as the Traitors and the Faithful battle it out to win the cash prize for their chosen charity.

But finalist Nick Mohammed has revealed that the tensions continued behind-the-scenes, as he let slip that one contestant ‘kicked off’ at production over being denied a ‘basic human right’.

Ahead of Thursday’s final episode, the actor, 45, shared what it was like to be on the hit BBC show, gushing that he ‘absolutely adored’ his experience.

Speaking to Stuart Goldsmith on The Comedian’s Comedian Podcast, he explained how the production team expertly crafted a tense environment during filming.

Nick revealed that the contestants were completely ‘isolated from the outside world’, as they weren’t allowed any devices and didn’t even know what time of day it was.

But while he praised production for being ‘so clever’ in a ‘positive way’, he admitted that one of his celebrity co-stars was less than pleased about being cut off.

The Ted Lasso star said: ‘All your devices are taken from you. I was allowed one phone conversation a day with the kids. You are isolated from the outside world.

‘We weren’t even allowed to know the time. So when we were in the castle, you’d be like “What’s the time?” And they’d be like “It’s Traitors time”.

Nick went on: ‘Every single member of production had to just answer with that until someone kicked off and they said, “It’s a basic human right, you can just tell us the time, it doesn’t mean anything!”.’

The comedian added that he had reservations about doing the show, as he was ‘reluctant to do anything as me’ rather than as his character, Mr Swallow.

He admitted having turned down the opportunity to do similar reality shows such as Taskmaster for this reason, but is such a fan of The Traitors that he felt he couldn’t pass up a chance to take part.

It comes after Nick teamed up with fellow Faithfuls Joe Marler and David Olusoga in a bid to team up and hunt down the Traitors ahead of the finale.

Rugby player Joe got one step closer to uncovering Alan Carr and Cat Burns in the previous episode as he revealed he’s got his sights firmly set on the pair as Traitors.

Last week, fans tuned in as Celia Imrie was brutally murdered in plain sight by comedian Alan, 49, at a dinner party celebration following the roundtable.

And Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway was sent packing by the group after being voted out by the Faithful convinced that she was double crossing them.

She was slammed as ‘useless’ for failing to bring any theories or names to the table throughout the previous episodes, which saw 11 Faithful murdered or banished, and only one Traitor, Jonathan Ross, uncovered.

After Kate, 58, had gone, Joe, 35, returned to his theory from earlier in the day that Alan could be a Traitor and had just been slipping under the radar, before confiding in Nick that he thought Cat was too.

Host Claudia Winkleman announced the reveal of her final five around a fire pit, where the group had to prove their innocence by telling each other they were Faithful.

But when Alan aroused suspicion when immediately burst out laughing as he tried to repeat the words, ‘I’m a Faithful’.

This only made Joe more certain of his theory, saying: ‘It’s just another confirmation of what I’m thinking already about Alan.

‘He can’t even look us in the eyes and say I’m a Faithful. If that’s not a red flag, I don’t know what is.’

The former rugby ace’s attentions also turned to singer Cat, 25, who has so far flown under the radar, and with his sights on the duo, he tried to recruit Nick and David, 55, to get in on his plan ahead of the final roundtable.

He revealed: ‘My plan involves getting really close to Alan and Cat so they keep me in the game. Then I can pull the rug from under their feet at the last minute. Sorry, Traitors, I’m coming for you.’

Viewers praised Joe as ‘the smartest in the game’ as he correctly guessed the identities of the two remaining Traitors.

Fans of the show took to X to praise Joe for figuring things out as they penned: ‘Didn’t have Joe Marler down as being the smartest man in this game.’

While the series has so far been airing two evenings a week on BBC One, fans won’t have to wait for the big reveal – as it’ll take place in one long episode.

Instead of hitting screens on Wednesdays, Celebrity Traitors will air just on Thursday night, at 9pm, in an extra-long finale episode.

Instead of running for 60 minutes, the final instalment of the spin-off series, which has only featured famous faces, fans will get an extra 10 minutes of action.

Immediately after, viewers can also tune into after-show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, which airs on BBC Two at 10:10pm.

It will see Ed Gamble joined by the remaining celebrities to dissect the action of the final episode, which will see the prize money up for grabs.
