Detailing the strain it puts on them, he continued: ‘You just get people being properly vile. So you understand when she goes, “I don’t know if I want to be around this”.’

When asked if he talked her round, Nick told that he didn’t as he ‘understands’ her feelings, remarking that the strength of their love saw them through in the end.

Nick and Katie made their first public appearance in September 2021, after Nick ended his romance with PR guru Emily Hallinan in February 2020.

Nick also spoke candidly about he is hoping that the third time is the charm and his latest marriage will be his last.

The presenter – who recently found himself facing accusations of a past misogynistic slur – also slammed the ‘horrible’ abuse Katie receives as a result of their relationship, with Nick admitting that Katie has questioned whether continuing their romance is worth the drama.

Speaking to The Times, Nick, who’s ex Gemma Oaten recently claimed her cruelly dumped her – explained that he is tired of every marriage, divorce or break-up he’s had gets dragged up.

He continued that he thought it was ‘odd’ that people he dated ten years ago were cropping up and offering their opinions on what it was like to date the star.

The TV personality noted that while he’s had ‘a lot of relationships’, he doesn’t believe he’s been in an ‘abnormal amount’ over the past 40 years, adding that he ‘chose’ to be in the public eye when his partners didn’t.

Nick went on to share how he believes his workaholism and fame contributed to the breakdown of some of his former relationships, suggesting that it’s often not ‘fun’ with him being away for work for months on end, while the being in the spotlight can be ‘intense’.

He shared: ‘People think dating me will be fun, but then I’m away for months on end. Or you ask them to go to a premiere; people think it will be amazing, they get their hair done, then suddenly they’re standing in front of 40 photographers on a red carpet and it’s terrifying. However, he went on to note that there are other professions which are much more ‘difficult’ than his, including being in the army, police or working for the NHS.

Nick’s candid remarks about his love life comes after he was accused of saying women from the North East are ‘munters’ in a chat with a young charity worker, it has been claimed.

According to The Sun, the TV presenter is said to have ogled the woman’s breasts along with making a string lewd and offensive remarks while filming the BBC‘s DIY SOS: The Big Build.

The publication writes that the support worker was left embarrassed and mortified by their interaction, although it is understood that Nick does not recall saying those words.

The woman, who is a mother-of-one, claimed she was interviewed by Nick in 2018 for an episode of the show where a young blind girl received a home renovation.

She said he turned up late for filming after drinking the night before and later slept in a van.

Nick was said to have been hungover and smelled of alcohol and cigarettes after a night out at the North Shields Fish Quay.

When the woman accidentally dropped her microphone down her blouse, Nick is alleged to have said: ‘It’s a shame that’s not a camera.’

She also claimed the presenter told her she was the ‘first good-looking woman’ he had seen in the North East.

She told The Sun: ‘I was mortified. He humiliated me in a very personal way in front of the whole crew. It was offensive. He was in his late 50s. He was being so inappropriate and I felt belittled.

‘I had been looking forward to meeting him and he ruined the whole experience for me.’

‘I remember just laughing along and feeling awkward. There were other people around and everyone was there to do a good deed for a little girl. I didn’t want to spoil that special moment.’

The woman didn’t challenge Nick on any of his remarks, saying there were other people there and she didn’t want to ‘spoil’ things.

Nick took a photo with the woman during filming and she claims he tried to talk her out of getting married when he saw her engagement ring, telling her marriage hadn’t worked for him.

The woman, who has not been identified, also claimed the host is a different person off-air than the image he portrays on screen.

She was motivated to speak out after watching Nick dancing with Luba Mushtuk on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

MailOnline has contacted representatives of Nick Knowles and the BBC for comment.

It comes as the star is set to walk down the aisle with fiancée Katie despite their 30-year age gap.

Nick popped the question in August 2023 and the big day appears to be approaching after the bride was spotted shopping for her dress recently.

Nick hit headlines with TOWIE star Pascal following a fleeting romance.

Things turned sour however, when model Pascal claimed she blocked Nick after he reportedly bragged about his ‘revolving’ bed’ and ‘dating younger women’.

She alleged that the twice-married DIY SOS host was ‘desperate to get his leg over’ when they went on a few of lavish dates last year.

She also claimed ‘forward’ Nick tried to kiss her before the starters during a £600 meal and embarrassed her with his ‘dad dancing’ in a nightclub.

Nick Knowles has been accused of saying women from the North East are ‘munters’ in a chat with a young charity worker, it has been claimed.

According to The Sun, the TV presenter, 62, is said to have ogled the woman’s breasts along with making a string lewd and offensive remarks while filming the BBC‘s DIY SOS: The Big Build.

It comes after Nick hit back earlier in the day at a fan who slammed him for visiting a Harley Street clinic after his nasty arm injury.

At the time, Nick shared he was heading to see a doctor on Harley Street to receive a scan and further medical advice.

But after a fan quipped that it ‘must be nice’ to have access to a private doctor, Nick hit back by declaring that he’s been ‘very lucky’ to succeed in his career, and wants to pay his ‘family back’ for their support.

He added that while struggling to kickstart his TV career he would ‘live in his career’ and resorted to sleeping on his friends’ sofas when his work ‘wasn’t paying.’

After Nick shared the update revealing his arm injury, a fan responded by saying: ‘Must be nice to be able to go to Harley Street to get an assessment and scan whenever you want it.

‘Most people would be on the phone for hours hoping to get through to the GP surgery or sat in A&E only to be put on a waiting list for a scan. Oh, how the other half live.’

Nick then responded by saying: ‘Yes you’re right – it is. I’ve lived in my car occasionally & on other peoples sofas at times over last 40 years to keep at TV when it wasn’t paying but recently I’ve done well & been able to pay people back & look after my family including private healthcare. I’m very lucky.’

Nick explained how his injury came about, revealing he’d hurt his arm as he hurriedly tried to change a tyre after breaking down.

‘It was my birthday,’ he said. ‘I had a big family birthday, I went to get my ten year old son to bring him back to the party, but we broke down on the motorway with a flat tyre.

‘I just want to say thank you to the two policemen from Taplow who turned up and helped me get the tyre back on.’

Nick continued: ‘It was raining and there were big lorries going past. So I tried to do it quickly and change the tyre quickly, and as I took the tyre off I basically damaged my bicep and damaged my arm…’

Nick Knowles Responds to Criticism for Seeing Private Doctor

Nick Knowles has hit back at a fan who slammed him for visiting a Harley Street clinic, after suffering a nasty arm injury on Monday.

The DIY SOS star, 62, has thrown his future on the show into doubt after revealing he’d injured his arm and shoulder while changing the tyre on his car.

At the time, Nick shared he was heading to see a doctor on Harley Street to receive a scan and further medical advice, and he was later pictured following the appointment with his fiancée Katie Dadzie.

However Craig received boos as he called the performance ‘pigeon-toed, stiff and flat footed’.

Strictly has also reportedly been hit with yet another blow after its first live episode of the latest series saw ratings plummet to their lowest in the show’s 20-year history.

Following last week’s pre-recorded launch, The Sun reported that Saturday’s episode saw a peak of 6.7million viewers, down from 7.3million for the same episode last year and 10.2million in 2020.

The show has found itself embroiled in controversy over how the professional dancers teach the celebs, with multiple accusations emerging of bullying and abusive behaviour.

All fifteen celebrities and their pro partners took to the dancefloor for the first live show following last weekend’s launch, where the pairings were first revealed.

A source told the publication that after bosses were fretting after already being ‘worried’ following the pre-recorded show losing nearly a million viewers on the previous year.

Saying: ‘The fact that the first live show saw a drop too will be of concern to them — particularly if the drop continues into next week, which is the first elimination show.

‘They now face an anxious wait to see whether the drop in on-the-night viewers is made up for by an increase in fans watching Strictly on iPlayer, but those figures take days and weeks to compile.

The BBC favourite returned for its first live show as the celebrities including DIY SOS star Nick Knowles and TOWIE’s Pete Wicks all took to the floor for their first dances.

Tess looked stunning in the red jumpsuit she had worn for the show while Phoebe looked chic in a white number.

Meanwhile beaming judge Shirley Ballas, 64, departed with her mother Audrey and looked in great spirits.

Sam Thompson and his girlfriend Zara McDermott who had been there to support pal Pete were also seen leaving.

During the first live show Amy left fans in tears after topping the leaderboard with her first performance alongside JB Gill on Saturday, after returning to the show following her breast cancer battle.

The dancing pro, 34, made a glorious comeback and told host Claudia Winkleman ‘I’m so happy I could burst’ after scoring an impressive 31 points on the dancefloor.

The fan favourite performed a moving Waltz to When I Need You by Leo Sayer, leaving both judges and fans emotional.

It’s a big year for Strictly as it celebrates its 20th year, while Amy made her much-awaited return to the show following her heartbreaking cancer battle.

She was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May 2023 and in what became the toughest year of her life, Amy underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, fertility treatment and was hospitalised with sepsis.

However, she announced in February she would be returning to the show this year after a mastectomy and chemotherapy left her with ‘no evidence of disease’ following tests.

JLS star JB, 37, seemed over the moon after the dancing routine and while chatting to co-host Claudia, he said : ‘I just really enjoyed learning it.’

This weekend, all fifteen celebrities and their pro partners took to the dancefloor for the first live show following last weekend’s dazzling launch, where the pairings were first revealed.

But while the launch show was pre-recorded, this week, there was no room for errors as every step, spin and sashay was closely scrutinised by judges Shirley, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.

As ever, hosts Tess and Claudia were on hand to welcome, congratulate and console the latest batch of nervous dancers as they stepped onto the floor to not only impress the judges, but the viewers at home.

Viewers were in for a treat as the first live show kicked off, with a variety of dances including Cha Chas, Viennese Waltz’s, Sambas and even a Paso Doble lined up for their viewing pleasure.

The DIY SOS host, 61, was spotted arriving at the local studio minutes after his professional dancer Luba Mushtuk, 34, a regular on the BBC show.

Nick looked ready to dance in a pair of navy tracksuit bottoms which he teamed with a grey sports T-shirt.

The presenter kept comfortable in a pair of white Nike trainers and added a stylish tweed jacket over his sportswear.

Meanwhile, Luba looked incredible in a pair of black leggings which she teamed with a coordinated belted jumper and trainers.

She was spotted carrying a large black handbag as she arrived at the studio ahead of the second day of training.

It comes after Nick and Luba were spotted on Monday having a smoking break outside the dance studio.

Having worked up quite a sweat during a four-hour rehearsal, Nick looked understandably exhausted as he popped out for a breather.

Russian ballroom specialist Luba joined him for a smoke before they made their way back inside.

Nick recently admitted his rehearsals for the show are so brutal that he has had to crawl to his car afterwards, and is using ice baths to recover.

When asked about the Strictly curse, Nick, who is taking part in the 20th anniversary series of the show, said: ‘I barely have the energy to walk out to the car afterwards. That’s not an issue.

‘Honestly, we did a day’s training yesterday, and I literally crawled out to the car and sat with my feet in a bath of cold water for an hour when I got home.’

Nick proposed to Katie Dadzie, 34, a lingerie business owner, while filming in the US last August.

The presenter – who has fronted the show Who Dares Wins – also revealed that he has lost just under two stone since he began training for the Saturday night dance contest around six weeks ago.

He added: ‘I was very fat, I’ve lost a lot of weight. I’ve done about six weeks of training to get fit enough to start dancing.

‘That’s the main thing, be fit enough to be able to do it, because it is unbelievably hard work.’

Nick previously expressed his desire to slim down for the dancing competition after a fan tweeted him: ‘Also got a book running with everyone on how much weight youll lose doing strictly…. Ive got a score on 3.5 stone…’ [sic]

In response, the TV star revealed: ‘Well I’ve been in training in the gym and on a strict diet and have lost 7kilos already.’

While at the gym, Nick tweeted a clip of himself nearly falling off the treadmill as he joked: ‘Clowning around on the running machine during pre-Strictly fitness training and almost came a cropper.’

Nick seems to be enjoying his training regime and seems to be committed to getting in shape.

Speaking to The Mirror in 2021 he said: ‘I’ve made a living by looking like a bag of spanners on TV. I’m 18 stone, I’m massive.

‘I’m always on building sites. During lockdown I put on almost four stone. I’ve taken two stone off now and I’m getting fit again.’

But Nick Knowles had to make do with blowing smoke as he took a break from dance rehearsals in London on Monday.
