Nick Hogan, 33, Faces Criticism from Family of 2007 Crash Victim After New DUI Arrest in Florida City 16 Years Later, Cause Brain Damage

Hulk Hogan’s son, Nick Hogan, is being slammed by the family of his 2007 crash victim who was left with brain damage after his latest DUI arrest in the same Florida city 16 years later.

Back in 2007 John Graziano was left in vegetative state after a car crash caused by Nick Bollea in 2007.

Wrestler Hulk Hogan’s son, who was just 17 at the time, was sentenced to eight months in prison in 2008 for the crash.

He pleaded no contest to charges of felony reckless driving stemming from the August 2007 accident in Clearwater, Florida.

The teenager was speeding in his yellow Toyota Supra with his best friend John, who was just 22, in the passenger seat when the vehicle careered off the highway and hit a palm tree.

Nick was admitted to hospital with minor injuries, while John suffered a broken skull and other severe injuries.

The former U.S. Marine John will need a lifetime of full-time medical care.

Now John’s mother Debra has told TMZ that she is not surprised by Nick’s latest DUI arrest.

The mother told the publication that Nick appears to be as careless now as he was 17 years ago when he got into that car crash which changed her son’s life forever.

She also told the publication that she believes that what happened in 2007 should be factored into whatever happens in the new case.

Debra said the fact that Nick has been arrested for DUI again nearly 20 years later shows a ‘total lack of respect for what (he) did to another person’s life and you’re still driving reckless.

‘I can only pray that at some point in his life, while he still has the chance, that he turns his life around. Until then I hope no one else gets hurt.’

She also got candid with the publication as she said that the accident has not only significantly changed John’s life significantly but also those around him.

At one point, the teenager lost control of the car and crashed. The pair were airlifted to a hospital, with Nick soon being released.

However, Graziano – who had not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident – sustained a brain injury that has left him under 24/7 care for the rest of his life.

Nick later pled no contest to a charge of reckless driving involving in serious bodily injury and was sentenced to 8 months in Pinellas County Jail. The police also alleged that alcohol was involved in the incident.

Hogan was additionally sentenced to five years probation, 500 community service hours, and also had his license suspended for three years.

At the time, Hulk told People, ‘[Nick] was moving through life and maybe not real appreciative of things…’

‘When this happened, it totally spun him in a 180…It’s the best thing that ever happened to him. I’m not saying it’s a good thing. But it happened for a reason.’

However, due to good behavior, Hulk’s son was released from prison after serving around six months.

A few years after the crash, Nick made an appearance on Good Morning America to open up about the night and called the accident ‘horribly devastating.’

He expressed, ‘It’s hard to move on every day and be positive when there’s something that’s so horribly devastating.’

Hogan – whose full name is Nicholas Anthony Bollea – then admitted, ‘There’s days when I can’t even get out of bed.’

Nick also commented on his close friend who had sustained brain damage. ‘John’s my brother, we practically lived together and I just remember finding out about how bad everything was. It’s still hard for me to think about it.’

‘I pray every day that I will be able to deal with it. It’s still at this point it’s too much to think about. It’s something that I carry with me every day.’

Before the 2007 crash, Nick notably received multiple speeding tickets in the state of Florida.

He admitted that he had been ‘absolutely reckless’ when it came to speeding, adding, ‘It was being young and honestly just stupid, not mature.’
