dodged Amanda Holden's question as she asked if he plans to propose to his girlfriend Amelia Woolley.
The former star, 32, is in a relationship with fashion buyer and marketing professional Amelia and the pair have been dating since 2020, although they didn't make their public debut until September 2021.
Niall recently announced he is releasing his fourth studio album, Dinner Party - and the entire album is about Amelia.
Joining Heart Breakfast with and on Friday, Niall shared how the album was inspired by the night he and Amelia met at a dinner party.
But he became cagey when judge Amanda asked if he has plans to propose to Amelia anytime soon.
'They've been going out quite a long time now, and I always do say there should be a ring on there really at this point,' Amanda said, before Niall said: 'Don't look at me like that.'

Speaking about his new album, Niall said: 'It's funny that way, the way it works, but, yeah. I just I met her at a dinner party, literally, and wrote a song about it.
'But it's crazy, like, then, what that dinner party... it's not just that night. Like it allowed me to write every other song since, because I'm thinking about the small moments that you have in that relationship, and it all started at that focal point of that.
'I couldn't even tell you what we ate, drank, anything. But afterwards, it became a bigger thing than just sitting down.'
'It changed your life,' Jamie said, before asking: 'What does Amelia think of it?'
Niall replied: 'I think she's just dumbfounded by the whole thing. You know, she's obviously never had a song written about her before. And then I've written basically two albums about her and she's like 'ehh?'
'You old romantic!' Jamie said.
Amanda probed: 'I won't ask, but they've been going out quite a long time now, and I always do say there should be a ring on there really at this point. But I won't say anything, you don't have to answer the question, it's awkward!'
Looking uncomfortable, Niall avoided eye contact before saying: 'Don't look at me like that.'
'No, I'm just saying just think about it,' Amanda said, with Jamie jumping in to ask: 'Amanda is saying should she buy a hat?'
Amanda added: 'I wouldn't get invited anyway. But I'm saying I know a great person in Dubai if you need a nice big ring.'
Niall laughs before adding: 'Oh do you?'
Rumours of Niall and Amelia's relationship started circulating in 2020, and they confirmed their relationship when they appeared together at his Horan & Rose Gala.

In recent months, Niall reportedly splashed the cash on a new luxury 'six bedroom family' home in west London, in a very fancy star-studded neighbourhood.
The hitmaker is said to have moved to the mansion, which is close to celebs Holly Willoughby and Ant and Dec, with his shoe designer girlfriend.
The Irish singer, who is the most low-key member of One Direction and is usually seen on a golf course or in the music studio, has paid a staggering £10million for his new property.
The notoriously private couple, who share a dog together, have already settled in after leaving his London penthouse and have been enjoying a 'quiet life' in the new neighbourhood.
A source told The Sun: 'Niall has bought himself a gorgeous house and now lives close to celebs like Holly Willoughby and Ant & Dec.
'He did have a very cool penthouse in London but he wanted to get somewhere a little more grown up.
'Niall's new place is set across a number of floors and has six bedrooms, so it feels like a proper family home. He is really settled with his girlfriend Amelia Woolley. They have a dog and are just like any other couple in their 30s - bar the fact he's got a fortune in the bank.
'They've been spotted a few times in the neighbourhood now but people leave Niall alone and let him just get on with his day. It's lovely that someone as well known as Niall can live the quiet life he's always wanted.'
