In popular culture, the term most often refers to models, aspiring actresses, or social media influencers who are paid to spend time aboard mega-yachts.
The Vampire Diaries actress, 36, who rang in the New Year in St. Barts with her pals aboard a luxurious yacht, responded to trolls’ claims on social media, telling them to ‘get a hobby’ and move on from the false statements.
In one of her New Year posts, she fired back at one troll comment, saying: ‘It’s 2026. Jealousy is the worst thing ever. Please move on from these false statements. Get a hobby. Enjoy your life.’
The false rumours began circulating after Nina, who split from her fiancé Shaun White, shared several sizzling photos and videos of herself living her best life aboard the yacht over the festive period, captioning one Instagram carousel: ‘Final days of 2025.’
She was joined by a group of pals, including ex-Glen Powell’s rumoured girlfriend Michelle Randolph and TV personality Alix Earle, per People.

Nina- who modelled a string bikini during her getaway just days prior – was seen cavorting around in various forms of skimpy attire, from a bikini top and sarong set to a black bikini as she sunned on deck.
Another provocative shot featured Nina lounging on the yacht in a fuchsia flower-print two-piece outfit that showed off her cleavage and toned, tanned abs.
The social media drop also included a clip of the brunette beauty modelling a black and white mini-dress with an intricately embroidered pattern of seashells and flowers. She kept twisting and turning in front of a mirror to view a better angle.
There were many other visual examples of the fun time she was having with her pals.
She and her girlfriends were pictured enjoying snacks in white terrycloth robes, while a pair of shirtless male friends clowned around in swim trunks and Subea snorkel masks.
At another point, The Roommate star enjoyed a Pilates class with the whole gang on the boat’s bow beneath sail shades.
Earlier this week, she also showed off her incredible figure in a brown bikini top and sarong set with gold accents in a fun Instagram clip.
She then slipped into a barely-there black and white patterned string bikini, which she paired with a straw Chanel bucket hat as she held up a white linen shirt.
The star put on a cheeky display as she turned around and showed off her bottom in the racy bikini.

In early September, news broke that the Love Hard star and Shaun had ended their five-year relationship and called off their engagement.
The pair’s romance began during the COVID-19 pandemic, and White proposed last October with a five-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring, a move that led fans to believe a wedding was in the works.
A source told Us Weekly there was zero bad blood between the pair.
‘They were very loyal to each other. Any online speculation that suggests otherwise is ridiculous,’ the insider told the publication, adding again that Dobrev was crushed by the end of the relationship.
Meanwhile, Shaun was reportedly among the guests at Kate Hudson’s star-studded New Year’s Eve bash in Aspen.
In November, the athlete was spotted chatting up model Brooks Nader at an Alice + Olivia event in New York City, according to Just.Jared.
