David plays the lead role of Anthony, a father with a mysterious past.
He is portrayed as protective, particularly regarding his basement, which holds secrets that tie into the larger mystery of the story.
His character’s complex background adds depth to the narrative as his teenage twins, Cece (Jayden Bartels) and Devin (Sam McCarthy) , visit him for the summer, uncovering dark truths along the way.
David’s performance emphasises both the warmth of a caring father and the tension of a man harboring secrets.
The teen twins are told their father’s only rule – ‘stay out of the basement’ – a mystery that ties into the mystery of five missing teens from 1994.

The trailer opens with Anthony greeting his twin children, saying, ‘I want you to have a really fun – and also safe – summer out here.
‘I only have one rule: stay out of the basement,’ Anthony adds, leaving his kids puzzled, prompting his son to ask, ;What do you got in the basement?’
In another scene, one of Devin and Cece’s friends reveals that their uncle was ‘one of the kids who went missing in 1994.’
Anthony finally receives something he’s sought for three decades—his brother’s ‘clothes from the night he died.’
As he descends into the basement, which resembles a makeshift lab, he examines a fiber sample from his brother’s clothes and discovers something strange—something alive within the fabric.
A mysterious vine wraps around his arm and begins to grow out of it, leading him to pull it out and place it in a freezer.
Frustrated, Anthony confronts his young neighbor Trey (Stony Blyden), telling him that his car is parked in Anthony’s driveway. In anger, he grabs a shovel and smashes the car window.
This provokes Trey, who then breaks into Anthony’s forbidden basement and starts wreaking havoc, only to be inexplicably pulled into the basement freezer.
Devin explains, ‘Things are happening that are not normal,’ as Cece watches blood bubble out from a bathroom sink.
Cece thinks that ‘dad is behind all of the crazy things happening,’ though Devin isn’t so sure.
The trailer winds down with a number of dramatic shots, ending with Anthony joking there are, ‘too many horror shows on TV.’
