Tim Mendelson, co-trustee of Taylor’s estate and her executive assistant for more than 20 years, issued a statement about the fashion line to Page Six.
‘While Elizabeth Taylor is probably best known for her glamorous red carpet style, we wanted to capture her more casual and playful side with [items] to be worn every day,’ he began.
‘As one of the world’s most famous women in history, her name and likeness is globally recognized,’ he added.
‘In some cases, we use only her name and in others it’s paired with her image and some of her more playful and meaningful quotes,’ Mendelson concluded.
The first two t-shirt designs are called the ‘Violet Eyes’ showcasing an artistic rendition of her iconic eyes above a House of Taylor logo, with one shirt in black and the other in white.
The third t-shirt features a pyramid design with an image of Taylor and her name in a rather glamorous font.
The long-sleeved t-shirt features a red heart with a white T inside it on the front, and on the back one of her iconic quotes: ‘Big girls need big diamonds.’
The collegiate premium crewneck sweatshirt is said to be ‘limited edition,’ though there is no word on how many were produced for this run.
