Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum’s contentious court battle has seemingly had no end in sight following the end of their nearly nine-year marriage back in 2018.
Despite the actress’ best efforts to come to an agreement on the financial portion of their legal split, Tatum has reportedly delayed the process by refusing to compromise.
‘Jenna has tried repeatedly tried to settle this case behind closed doors, to keep matters private, and outside of the public eye to protect Channing and Magic Mike,’ a source told DailyMail.com exclusively. ‘Unfortunately, this case has dragged on for six years because Channing has unrealistic expectations of divorce and how marital assets are to be divided in California.’
The insider predicted that ‘their case will never end until Channing gets reasonable and meets Jenna in the middle.’
It’s unclear if the former couple, who share an 11-year-old daughter named Everly, signed a prenuptial agreement.

This comes after lawyers for Dewan, 43, said in papers filed on Tuesday that lawyers for Tatum, 44, had been using ‘every trick in the book to stall this case from getting to a trial,’ in legal documents obtained by DailyMail.com.
Tatum’s legal team said in court docs that Dewan’s August 16 ask that Tatum’s lawyers with Glaser Weil and Blank Rome be dismissed over a purported conflict of interest amounted to a ‘just another delay tactic to prolong our divorce case.’
The prime focus of the legal proceedings – which have dragged on more than six years – centers around the distribution of money Tatum earns via the Magic Mike movie franchise.
The Hartford, Connecticut-born actress said in court docs Tatum has been ‘attempting to blur the lines’ of the intellectual property in the Magic Mike franchise.
Dewan said that money used during their marriage had been used to finance the lucrative franchise, while attorneys for Tatum said he’s never concealed earnings or deprived Dewan of ‘her share of the community assets or income.’
Lawyers for Dewan said Tatum’s team is ‘depriving Jenna of a fair and equal share of the community estate, and he is prejudicing her every day that this case continues.’
Tatum’s legal team said Tuesday that the latest move from Dewan was done ‘solely designed to delay the upcoming trial,’ the outlet reported.
Tatum’s team said in legal docs that the actor ‘has made exhaustive efforts to settle all issues in this matter without litigation’ since 2018.

They added, ‘He has made countless settlement proposals, attended multiple mediations, his attorneys have prepared numerous drafts of a proposed judgment, and he has tried to resolve issues directly.’
Tatum’s attorneys said in a legal response that Dewan’s filing earlier this month was ‘frivolous’ and ‘has no basis in law or fact;’ and ‘a transparent attempt to divert the Court’s attention from her willful violation of her Court ordered deposition and discovery deadlines.’
Tatum’s team suggested to the court Dewan ‘should be sanctioned in the sum of $20,000’ for the cumbersome request.
A filing from Dewan’s attorneys on August 28 stated that lawyers for Tatum had been obligated to declare ‘Glaser Weil’s extensive and ongoing involvement with martial transactions related to the community’s Magic Mike intellectual property.

Dewan’s attorneys said it had been ‘shocking’ after Tatum ‘associated in new divorce counsel a mere five months before trial’ and ‘that very same counsel created an extensive web of LLCs, each of which is at least partially owed by Channing, for the sole purpose of transacting business related to the community’s Magic Mike intellectual property.’
The Magic Mike franchise has spawned the hit 2012 motion picture and multiple sequels – 2015’s Magic Mike XXL and 2023’s Magic Mike’s Last Dance – as well as the 2021 HBO Max reality series Finding Magic Mike, and a Las Vegas based show.
Since their split, both have found new romances – Tatum is engaged to actress Zoë Kravitz, 35, while Dewan has been engaged to actor Steve Kazee, 48, since 2020. Dewan and Kazee are parents to son Callum, four, and daughter Rhiannon, two months.
Tatum and Dewan initially met working on the 2006 movie Step Up and got engaged in 2008, exchanging vows July 11, 2009 in Malibu, California.

Tatum and Dewan said in a joint statement on April 2, 2018 that they were breaking up, saying, ‘We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together.
‘Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.
