Neve Campbell recently shared her excitement about her upcoming return to Scream.
The 50-year-old actress ‘excited to get back in’ her role, adding that she’s ‘really, really grateful to get back to it,’ after she announced that she would be rejoining the horror franchise for the upcoming seventh film.
In an interview with People published on Friday, she also said she was also ‘grateful’ that the studio listened to her and approached her with a higher starting offer after their salary dispute last year leading to her exiting the franchise.
The last Scream movie Campbell appeared in was the 2022 reboot alongside series regulars Courteney Cox and David Arquette as well as new recruits led by Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.
In March, the Wild Things alum revealed on her social media that she would be reprising her role as the iconic ‘final girl’ Sidney Prescott from the first five Scream films.

For the upcoming seventh film, she told the outlet that negotiations were different.
‘I’m really grateful that the studio heard me when I talked about pay discrepancy and when I talked about [Scream VI negotiations] not feeling respectful,’ she said.
‘When they first approached me [for Scream 7], I thought, “I don’t know what respectful looks like to them. We might be in very different places.”
‘But they started out in a strong place, so that was lovely,’ she recalled.
‘It feels nice to have put that out into the world and to have been listened to and to have made a difference in that way,’ she added. ‘I hope other people get that opportunity too.’
Campbell also shared her excitement to reunite with screenwriter Kevin Williamson — who will be directing for the upcoming movie after developing and writing the screenplay for Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997) and Scream 4 (2011).
‘I’m really excited that Kevin Williamson is going to direct,’ she said. ‘I think he’s been wanting to do it for years and he deserves it. This is his baby. He’s going to do a phenomenal job.’
