Filming on Heartstopper season three wrapped on Friday, Netflix bosses confirmed.
The author of the graphic novels on which the series is based, Alice Oseman, 29, promised the programme would head into ‘uncharted territory’ when it is released.
In a post on Instagram, Alice wrote: ‘Heartstopper S3 is wrapping TODAY! We have a few more hours of our final day to get through, but I wanted to express how deeply grateful I am to the cast and crew for their hard work, dedication, skill and endurance over the past 11 weeks, and for once again bringing a season of Heartstopper to life.
‘Season 3 takes Heartstopper into uncharted territory and it presented a range of new challenges for our cast and crew, but everyone did the most incredible job and I am so excited to share what we’ve all been working on.
‘Now back to our final shooting day of this season.’

Heartstopper has already enjoyed two hugely successful seasons, the last of which came out in August this year, with a release date for series three yet to be announced.
The second series of the LGBTQ+ coming-of-age romance was lauded as fans of the show said they ‘never want it to end’.
At the heart of the second series was couple Nick and Charlie who ended the debut season together after an ongoing will-they-won’t-they storyline.
The pair – played by Kit Connor and Joe Locke – still had challenges to face as a couple.
It was announced in October that production on the third series had begun.
Netflix gave little away as they announced the show was back, simply writing at the time: ‘Heartstopper season 3 is now in production!!!’
One fan commented that it was the ‘best news ever!!!!’
And fans cannot wait to see what twists and turns are in store for the pair and their supporting cast next, with one excitedly writing: ‘HEARTSTOPPER S3 HAS BEGUN FILMING NOBODY MOVE.’

Another added that they ‘can’t wait to watch’, with another exclaiming: ‘WE ARE READY!’
The announcement was accompanied by an image of the series’ creator Alice with a clapperboard ordained by sketches of the show’s main duo.
It did, however, reveal that the first episode filmed was being directed by Andy Newbery rather than regular Euros Lyn.
Andy has previously worked on the BBC series Hidden and 2022’s The Light In The Hall, both Welsh dramas.
