Netflix subscribers have been going wild for the service’s new action drama The Brothers Sun, which stars Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh.
The series, which debuted an eight-episode season on January 4, has been the recipient of adoring social media posts from fans praising the Everything Everywhere All At Once star and the show’s dramatic punch.
But after devouring all eight episodes in swift fashion, newly anointed fans of The Brothers Sun are begging Netflix to quickly green light a second season of the popular show.
Several took to X (formerly called Twitter) to make their wishes for more of the mob show.
‘The Brothers Sun is so much fun. I don’t remember binge-watching something without a break like this in months,’ gushed one fan who was looking forward to another season.

The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon actress stars in the show as the Taiwanese immigrant Eileen, who lives in Los Angeles with her son Bruce Sun.
But after his older brother unexpectedly moves to LA from Taipei, Taiwan, in the wake of an assassination attempt on their father, Bruce learns that his family is connected to organized crime.
Although Eileen fled to the US to keep Bruce safe and to avoid the gangster life of her husband and his family, the organized crime ring won’t leave them alone.
‘Finished The Brothers Sun, sooo good. I hope we get a second season,’ wrote another fan. ‘One of the best Netflix shows in such a long time. The cast where all perfect in their roles [sic]!’
Another viewer warned that Netflix ‘better renew The Brothers Sun for a second season,’ calling it ‘great.’
One fan enthused that ‘The Brothers Sun might be the best show of the year,’ even though ‘ the year just started.’

Another viewer was adamant that the show ‘NEEDS’ a second season so as not to ‘waste this childhood lovers trope.’

Some fans dug the series so much that they even a single additional season wasn’t going to be enough to satisfy them.
‘The Brothers Sun is so good ima need for Netflix to give me multiple seasons please & thank u. I’m only on episode 2 & is already obsessed,’ one X user wrote.
Produced by Brad Falchuk, who is best known for his work co-creating Glee and Pose with Ryan Murphy, Yeoh said she was thrilled to be involved in a series starring Asian actors, something she has battled for throughout her entire career.
‘For the last few years, I have been fighting for different roles and hoping to find the entry point into where we all deserve to have a seat at the table,’ Yeoh told Variety.
‘It’s only in the last couple of years that you see more and more of the Asian stories being told.’
The Oscar-winning actress commented that although Brad Falchuk is not Asian, ‘he championed our story.’
‘I think the most important thing is how we embrace each other and help each other tell the narrative and the best stories so that we keep pushing these boundaries,’ she shared.
Yeoh made history at last year after becoming the first woman who identifies as Asian to land an Oscar for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
One fan loved the show so much after only episode two that they they were calling for several more seasons.

She gained renown for her role in the 2000 martial arts masterpiece Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, a best-picture nominee that won the Oscar for best foreign language film.
Yeoh had more recent success in the 2018 movie Crazy Rich Asians and Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in 2021.
