Griselda is the latest gritty crime series to have taken the internet by storm, and fans are so ‘obsessed’ with the Netflix drama that they ‘can’t sleep’ before finishing it.
The mini series premiered on January 25 and chronicles the life of Griselda Blanco, a notorious Colombian drug lord who operated a cocaine empire in Miami.
Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara stars as the titular character and has been praised for her performance.
Viewers were so enthralled that they took to X, formerly known as Twitter to express their excitement, sharing that they were hooked after just one episode of the six-part show.
One viewer predicted that Vergara will have a clean sweep of awards as a result, writing: ‘Griselda Blanco turning her kids into murderers and drug dealers is WILD. Sofia Vergara is about to be nominated for everything from this Netflix mini series’.

Other viewers shared: ‘Started watching Griselda so my new personality for the week is about to be kingpin drug lord, queen of the underworld”; ‘I used to be obsessed with Griselda Blanco and Pablo Escobar’; ‘Griselda may be the best thing on Netflix right now’;
‘Baby that Griselda Netflix show HIT. Best six hours of TV I’ve watched in a LONG time!’; ‘Griselda is so good. I been seated’, and another admitted to bingeing the miniseries: ‘Smashed six hours of Griselda’.
However, one viewer wasn’t so mesmerised by the dramatization, claiming producers played it too safe with Blanco’s depiction.
They mused: ‘Griselda on Netflix is good but I feel like they are being too safe in a bit to humanise her. Griselda Blanco was RUTHLESS. She started killing when she was 11.
‘The TV show is making her come across as soft.’
While fans voiced their approval for the show, the family of Blanco – who was murdered by gunshot in 2012 – filed a lawsuit on the grounds of its alleged ‘unauthorized use of their family’s likeness’, according to TMZ.
Blanco’s son Michael Corleone claims he has been doing interviews for years to try and get his and his mother’s life story on paper in the hopes of developing into a production.
He previously told DailyMail.com about his anger and disappointment over the fact Vergara and her team refused his offer to consult on the project.
Most users on X, formerly known as Twitter were captivated to the show, with some even seeming addicted to the gritty crime drama
He called the rejection a ‘slap in the face’, saying they ‘wouldn’t have got away with it’ if his mother was still alive.
Blanco, who was born in Santa Marta, Colombia, grew up in poverty and the lack of money forced her into a life of crime from an early age.
It was claimed that she got caught up on a path of pickpocketing and prostitution, before going on to find love again with drug trafficker Alberto Bravo who soon got her caught up in the cocaine industry.
The couple used New York as their base as they smuggled drugs into the US – and Blanco appeared to have a knack for it – later creating a huge cocaine empire worth billions.
