Netflix has tapped a new Queen of Christmas to captivate audiences this holiday season.
On Thursday, the streaming platform announced that Sabrina Carpenter will be hosting her very own Netflix special, titled A Nonsense Christmas, which will feature surprise musical guests as well as performances from her holiday EP Fruitcake, various holiday classics, comedic cameos and unexpected duets.
The 25-year-old pop star, who has been on a roll since opening for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and releasing her chart-topping album Short n’ Sweet, shared the news on her Instagram account with a cheeky video.
In her announcement video, she slowly approaches the camera wearing a sparkly Santa bodysuit and black, fur-trimmed boots.
‘Expecting someone else?’ she asks with a smirk, seemingly alluding to Mariah Carey, who has become virtually synonymous with Christmas over the last three decades.

She cheekily captioned the post: ‘This is really gonna jingle your bells.’
While speaking to Netflix’s site, Tudum, Carpenter gushed about the opportunity as she explained that the ‘holidays have always been so special’ to her.
‘I am excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show, infusing my love of music and comedy to make something that is uniquely me,’ she said.
The special is produced by OBB Pictures and At Last Productions.
Carpenter will serve as an executive producer alongside Michael D. Ratner, Scott Ratner, Simone Spira, Kfir Goldberg, Bill Perlman and Janelle Lopez Genzink.
Meanwhile, San Wrench is set to direct and Nikki Boella has been announced as the program’s showrunner.
‘Sabrina’s vision to subvert the classic holiday special has been clear since day one,’ Ratner raved. ‘At OBB, we partner with the world’s most captivating artists to reimagine the expected, and we’re proud of the work by our entire team.’
