Nelly Furtado put on a jaw-dropping display in a Jean Paul Gaultier dress and discussed how her eldest daughter Nevis is involved in her new album on This Morning on Friday.
The youthful looking Canadian singer, 45, is preparing to drop her first album since 2017’s The Ride and Nevis has played a big role in her career resurgence.
Nelly told This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary: ‘[Nevis] curated my Tiny Desk performance online.
‘It’s a very cool acoustic set thing that a lot of musicians do. [Nevis] came to the studio with me in the kind of early days. I spent three years making this new album!’
Nelly told Euphoria Magazine in March: ‘I can’t reveal too much, but it’s gonna be elevated. This current version, it’s about 10 to 20 per cent Spanish.

‘We have big plans and I’m so excited about it because I’m in a better head space than ever. I’ve never loved being an entertainer more. I feel like I’m really owning it.’
The album follows a string of collaborations from Nelly, including: Eat Your Man with Dom Dolla and Keep Going Up with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, and Gala Y Dalí with Juanes.
Nelly performed in her parents’ native country this week and wrote on Instagram: ‘Oporto!❤️ I was so excited to play a show in Portugal!
‘I had a flu the day of this show but I felt better after the show so obrigada @northmusicfestival for all of your beautiful energy and love !
‘Beijinhos Muito Obrigada @anamourafado para tua luz ❤️.’
In April, Nelly performed her 2023 collaboration Eat Your Man with the Australian DJ inside the Sahara Tent during Coachella.
Eat Your Man marked Furtado’s first single in five years and it peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
The SKIMS brand ambassador told her 1.2M Instagram followers: ‘My very first Coachella! What a dream!’
Partying with Nelly in the desert was Nevis whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend Jasper Gahunia.
Furtado is also mother to a daughter, 5, and a son, 4, with rapper Hodgy, whom she reportedly began dating in 2018.
